University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) BSN Spring 2023

Hey everyone!

I'm applying to UMSON for BSN Spring 2023. I wanted to create this thread so we can share info or ask any questions.

Probably a bit early before regular deadline but priority deadline is coming up (July 15) which is what I'm aiming for.

OMG congrats! I did not think any of us would hear anything this early. Which campus are you going to?

Shady Grove!

I applied for last semester, but one of my prerecs was out of date, so I was encouraged to reapply for this semester with that problem resolved. I was not expecting to hear so early though. 

Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else!

Guys I just got accepted. O.O

I was so nervous because my application has stayed at "Completed" this entire time.  I checked this morning and it still said completed. I decided to check again an hour ago and I saw "action required" and got an acceptance letter. I cannot believe it.

Congrats congrats!! I take it the acceptance letter is by email and/or via the application portal? Any word on merit aid?

I saw it on the application portal first (I've been obsessively checking for the past 2 weeks) and the letter was available to download from there. I got the email a few mins later. 

I didn't see anything about Finaid or the scholarships on my letter but if I do in the future I will post about it here.

Thanks for the info. And congrats again — what a relief not to have to wait until September!

Overall GPA: 3.6~ 

Prereq GPA: 3.74

Science GPA: 3.75

TEAS: 92 

btw my prereq GPA included a retake (I originally had a D and retook the class for an A but both grades are included in the calculation). I also had a transcript that had 4 withdrawals on it. So if your application isn't perfect just make up for it in other areas that you can control (TEAS, essays, resume/CV). They really are holistic when reviewing your app.
