I would definitely retake the C courses, at least the science courses. You have time to knock out those classes before the next application cycle. Classes like psych and nutrition are almost always offered online at the local CCs here. I personally took my Nutrition class through Portage, which is a self-paced class (lots of prospective healthcare students finish up their last prereqs through them) and UMSON accepted it. So that’s another option if your schedule can’t work around in-person classes. If you didn’t use the additional essay option to explain any academic blemishes, I would make sure to do so for your next application. Explain what you did to overcome any issues and what you will implement in the future to be successful. You have a bachelors degree already so you’re clearly capable of doing well and completing a program. You just gotta explain that to them.

Did anyone here take nutrition with portage?
I don’t know if you’ve taken it already, but I took Nutrition in June and finished with an A+. Honestly if your grade is already an A you don’t have to go super hard on studying for the final. What I did to review was I just rewatched all of the video lectures. I also copied all of the “book” material into a pdf to follow along. If I saw something that I was iffy about or needed to review I would highlight it. I didn't bother reviewing the previous tests or homework assignments. Just go over the main and general points from the actual lessons. I needed 70/120 in the final to get a 92.5% in the class and ended up getting 112/120. I only reviewed for 2 days and that was more than enough.

Overall GPA: 3.6~ Prereq GPA: 3.74 Science GPA: 3.75 TEAS: 92 btw my prereq GPA included a retake (I originally had a D and retook the class for an A but both grades are included in the calculation). I also had a transcript that had 4 withdrawals on it. So if your application isn't perfect just make up for it in other areas that you can control (TEAS, essays, resume/CV). They really are holistic when reviewing your app.

I saw it on the application portal first (I've been obsessively checking for the past 2 weeks) and the letter was available to download from there. I got the email a few mins later. I didn't see anything about Finaid or the scholarships on my letter but if I do in the future I will post about it here.

They should update the main page with projected decision dates after the deadline passes. I plan on checking after the 15th if I don't hear anything. But based on previous threads here, it looks like priority applicants received their acceptance the week of the regular deadline. So no later than September maybe?

Thoughts on Commuting
First off congrats on your acceptance. 2-3 hours daily commute is gonna be rough. That’s more time taken away from studying and reviewing. Only so many hours in a day right? I would also be concerned about clinical placement. I would ask the program where you guys are usually placed. Say if they typically assign you guys to a site that’s 20-30+ minutes further away from the school in the opposite direction of where you live? Is it not feasible for you to move closer? Im assuming this is a 2 year program, and you may be able to keep up with the commute and school for one semester but I’d be concerned about being burnt out by the end. I think it’d be worth biting the cost of relocation to attend the RN program with a reputable reputation and 20% higher NCLEX passing rates.
