University of Hawaii Manoa 2014 MEPN Program

Last year's thread for this program was in full swing by this point with good rumors and nervous applicants. So, how many people out there have applied for the 2014 MEPN program at UHM? I am hoping there are 40 seats and only 40 applicants.

Aloha all. Congrats to those who are accepted into the program! So exciting!! I am one of the many (or few?) still awaiting a decision. I'm getting quite anxious! I emailed "S" yesterday about the dual FNP/APHN track being on hiatus, as I also selected that track. He emailed me back explaining why and asked me which one I would select if I was to be admitted. I have a public health background, so I told him FNP. I'm just hoping that won't hurt me if those seats may already or are close to being filled. Who knows? It's all part of the ride I guess. Aloha...I have been reading everyone's posts and congrats to all who have gotten acceptance letters already. I know how EXCITED you must be and eager to get your next letter with more information. I, too, have been accepted to the 2014 cohort and am soooo excited. I will be be in the Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist path. I know how stressful the waiting part is....that was the worst part of the application process (except for the Youtube video..lol)....best of luck to everyone:)

I am excited to find this forum and talk with other students starting the MEPN Cohort 7. I was accepted for the Public Health tract. Anyone else doing Public Health? I am excited to meet everyone in the fall. Does anyone know when our orientation will be or when classes will start?

Hi So121...my friend was accepted to the Public Health tract....she is super excited, too. We haven't received any info yet as to orientation dates, but S said that info would be sent out soon. Classes start Aug. 26th...start your FASFA now as priority deadline was 3/1/14. You can still apply, though. I am here on island, so let me know if you need any assistance or have any questions...congrats and Aloha!!!

Finished FAFSA already. Looking for scholarships, but I think I'm a little behind on getting them for Aug. Have discovered that most deadlines are right now. I also live here already. Finishing up my last prerequisite this semester and working trying to save up $$ to pay for this program. Excited to get started soon! Keep getting distracted while I should be doing my homework. Thanks for your reply!

I received word last week by email that the review process is still underway and that notifications were made as late as April last year. Did anyone else receive this email? Also, has anyone heard anything else or anything different?

I received the same email! I can't imagine hearing back that late.. Especially since I'm studying abroad for my final Spring term and will have limited email access!!!!! Hopefully we hear back sooner than that!

I have been accepted to cohort 7 (2014), too! I'll be in the APHN program. If you're on Facebook, a private group has been started--just search for UH Manoa MEPN Cohort 7. Like jcmaili (I'm the friend she mentioned--hello!), I'm on-island, and would be happy to help those of you making a big move. I can't wait to meet you all! And for those still waiting--I wish you good news ASAP! Waiting is the worst.

That's great! I've been accepted to Cohort 7 too for FNP. I would suggest switching the group from private to closed, as currently you can not search for it. As an alternative, there is a "UH Manoa MEPN" group. I think a cohort specific group is a good idea as well.
