University of Hawaii Manoa 2014 MEPN Program

Published

Last year's thread for this program was in full swing by this point with good rumors and nervous applicants. So, how many people out there have applied for the 2014 MEPN program at UHM? I am hoping there are 40 seats and only 40 applicants.

Hi again,

Does anyone know when you will find out how much financial aid UH will give you? I know that I need to go into myUH portal to find out my award information, but do you know when they will give you that info? Thanks!

I got mine today. It says tuition is $13,929. I know it is more than that. I think I need to call them. Anybody else get theirs today?

Specializes in APHN.

Mine arrive, too. I think this initial offer is based off of standard graduate cost, not the nursing program cost. Once the nursing program processes our fall registration, they will likely send us updated offer letters. Even so, I'm taking possible scholarships/grants more seriously.

I got my financial aid award also...the tuition says $13K until the MEPN program submits the "official" budget to the financial aid office sometime in April. THE MEPN office will submit the budget with the official roster and then they will adjust the award offers. That is how the Financial Aid office explained it to me...I hope they adjust it because I really cannot afford to attend the program with what they offered:(

Me neither!!!

I was told the same thing by email. They will adjust the award when they get the MEPN roster. We should get an email when it is adjusted.

Hi all,

I have been following this thread for quiet some time now. I too applied to MEN for 2014 and haven't heard anything yet:(( Did any of you recently got positive or negative email? I am loosing my patience.. Congrats to all of you who got in and wish luck to all of you, who are still waiting for the news!

Hi all! I put my application on the first day, within the first few seconds, they started accepting applications! They are on rolling admissions after all. It paid off. I got my acceptance letter, I think it was, 3-4 months after. Nonetheless, I have been accepted into the Cohort 7: FNP track!!!

In the process, I have noticed some somethings going on with financial aid!!! They were going to give me about half of what I needed!! SHOCKER RIGHT!! I went to them immediately. Financial aid informed me that because of tuition going up every year, they needed certain confirmations from the nursing department about the amount of credits we would be taking each semester, etc. I am told it will work itself out and not to worry, but TRUST ME I will be watching them like hawks!!

Glad I came across this blog site! Is there a Facebook page for Cohort 7?

Cheers all!

Can't wait to meet you at the Summer Celebration!

Is there a huge project or Capstone project you have to do?

I can't seem to find it? Could you send me the link? :sorry: [email protected]

Hi kasia12!

I am not sure if you have heard anything since you posted, but I am still waiting! I received the email saying the hoped to make notifications by March, but made them as late as April last year. There is still one week in March so I suppose it could still come soon. I am really starting to lose hope :( I feel like I just want to know, whether it's good or bad! I applied a few days after the application opened up. I hope you have already heard or that we both hear soon!!

Okay...I did it! There is now a "UH Manoa MEPN - Cohort 7" group page on Facebook!!

Before I could create it, I had to add a friend...and since I don't know any of you yet, I added my dog. HAHAHA!! I will remove her when someone else joins.

It is currently a "closed group," so if you can't find it, send me the email address you use for your Facebook account, and I can easily add you.

Congrats to all who have been accepted, and best of luck to all who haven't!

Sorry forgot to add my email address, for those having difficultly getting on the Facebook group....

It's [email protected]
