University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

IDK who needs to hear this (and I mean this respectfully) but y'all need to stop thinking just because you didn't get an acceptance letter a few weeks ago that you're not getting in. Stop throwing in the towel because 10 people got an acceptance letter. I mean my goodness. LOL

Specializes in future Nurse Practitioner.

Exactly! Didn’t they say end of May?

100%! Mailing said they anticipate sending decisions out by 5/31 so there’s still time!

Got in at two other schools. Still waiting also on UF but accepted with USF and will continue with them. I agree with some of the other comments, it’s very inconsiderate of UF and confusing also, which makes me think twice moving forward. Even if it were fine, I am OK with declining an offer. A few NPs at work and a close friend all graduated from USF and had excellent experiences, and my application process and interview were great so that’s where I will be!! AG ACUTE CARE!!
Also, found out their app is open until June 15 because of the pandemic.
Good luck everyone!

It's unfortunate that they pushed acceptances so far back. I would consider myself a strong candidate, but since I still have heard nothing I have chosen to confirm acceptance at another university. I can't wait around on UF to make up their mind when other schools deadlines to accept are fast approaching. Best of luck to everyone. If I do get in, I hope one of you will receive my spot.

For sure! But 5/31 is a holiday so I anticipate its either gonna be today OR June 1st ? Which knowing UF, loved them during my undergrad but theyre def finnicky af, its gonna be June 1st if they stick with their original emails. Or, they'd surprise immensely if theyre working on a holiday and actually do send it out the 31st.

I wrote her and she said this “Thank you for your email. Admission decisions are still being processed and send out in batches. You should hear from us by no later than next week regarding a decision.”

so I’m guessing it’s not going to be until next week honestly.

Maybe today is the today. I can’t see them delaying this much longer.

Seriously! ? she said no later than next week. It’ll be Friday, June 4. I know it. LOL.

I feel like they already picked what they wanted.  I’d love to know how many applied.  I’m sure it sucked this year to pick with multiple qualified superior candidates.  I’m curious to know how was everyone planning on paying for this $30k+ program?
