University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Published

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

I feel like they already picked what they wanted.  I’d love to know how many applied.  I’m sure it sucked this year to pick with multiple qualified superior candidates.  I’m curious to know how was everyone planning on paying for this $30k+ program?

My husband gave me his GI bill. He’s active duty but already got his MBA using TA while still in the Marines so he had no need for it.

Hopefully scholarships, but definitely loans.

If I get a spot, I’ll get loans through FAFSA and no, I think they leave spots for excellent candidates at the end as well. I’m sure there were a lot of well-qualified candidates and this process is difficult for them so I’m trying not to worry just because it is the last week. It’s not over till it’s over!

Hi! I plan on applying in the future and was reading this board. Did UF require a GRE score and did any other NP schools you apply to require it? If so, when did you start prepping/taking the GRE?

UF does require the GRE but they waived it this year due to covid. Not all universities require it but you’ll have to research those individually.

Highly doubtful any university faculty/admins work on a national holiday... I’d be very surprised. Especially when Mailing has already said the first week of June instead.

I definitely see your point, but those emails regarding the first week of June were sent to those who reached out to her. The mass email sent to everyone who applied said by May 31st. Rightfully so, she should’ve sent another decision update if it was to be postponed beyond today.

I agree it’s strange, and if it’s not today they definitely should have sent an email out to all saying the decisions had been extended further. I’m liking your positivity and hoping it’s today too.

Completely agree with what you’re saying. The mass email sent out indicates we should be finding out today. If that changed we should at the very least get SOMETHING today around 5pm. However like many others I am skeptical because it is Memorial Day.
