University of Florida DNP Fall 2021

Hello there! I just wanted to start this thread to see if there were any people applying to the University of Florida for next fall for their nurse practitioner program? I am applying to the BSN to DNP specialty in Pediatric Acute Care. Anyone know how the current pandemic might affect the application process? Any current students that might want to share their experiences with application process, and the current state of the program? Thank you all in advanced, looking forward to hearing from you all and starting this journey.

This is the first I’m hearing about a Youtube video ? Was this a requirement for just the FNP?

This is straight from the NursingCAS DNP program application. We were given the option to provide a video answer to question 4 in the personal statement questions.

No it was an option for one of the essay questions, to do a video instead of in writing

Me too.  I never got any acknowledgment from UF, but called the head of the nursing dept.  She confirmed they had everything they needed.  I’m not feeling great about getting in, but it’s fine.  I’ll try next year.

You never know. Just crazy how other schools have sent decisions at this point ..

For those of you that have applied and been accepted to other schools, did they provide determinations earlier than expected? UF said to expect a response late April/early May. Do we think they might finish reviewing the applications early?

Other schools were about right on target. Within the projected week or 2. I hope UF decides mid April or at the end of the month at the latest. It’s a bit nerve wrecking knowing out of all the schools, they are taking the longest.

JU sends out their decisions on Friday. I imagine UF can't be too far behind.
