Hey everyone!

Just starting a thread to see who has applied and or gotten accepted into the University of Cincinnati's online FNP program for spring 2019?

Super excited I just received my acceptance letter today!

I've only read great things about this university. It would be great to see who I'm starting class with in January

I like it. It’s a lot of work. I’m in second semester and some of the classes feel like busy work & a waste of time but I think that’s how it is with any degree. They provide you with resources like lectures, articles, YouTube’s, videos, books to learn from and I know some schools just give you a book & tell you to kind of teach yourself so I’m glad they provide ya with options to learn from. It’s been very difficult to find preceptors tho as with most schools now you have to find your own.

Anyone recently take these?

Course: NURS8002 Title: Theoretical Basis for Clinical Reasoning

Course: NURS8020C Title: Advanced Health Assessment

if so, did you need the book (ebook or hardcopy) of just use the info the professor provides + lecture (etc.)? So far I've only used the info provided by the professors & did fine in the 1st semester. Glad I didn't wast 100s of $$ on unused books

Also, is there a FB page for NURS8002 & 8020C. Thanks!?

Facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/groups/2109567379325525/?ref=share

i didn’t get the books from either class. Tests come from lectures with advanced health assessment.

Theory was a pain very abstract thinking tests mostly come from lectures even people that had the book said it wasn’t very helpful. There’s a big paper at the end of the class, start writing that early it’s time consuming!

Hi guys,

I was just accepted to the fall 2020 FNP program. I'm excited. Can some of you since you've been in about a year now, tell me if you're still liking it? also how are the classes set up? is it a case study due weds and replies by end of week w/quizzess or is it just case studies and papers? which classes did you find the most challenging? is there enough support, articles provided, etc? trying to get a feel for what to expect to better prepare and balance with my full time job and family. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi guys. How is the program going for you? I am considering the FNP program in the future. All the best wishes!
