I wanted to create this forum because I haven't seen one for this cycle. I figured it would be a good way to connect with others who are going through the application process, are scared, nervous, excited, or lost. (or maybe all of the above) Also just a great way to stay updated with the application cycle. The application closes on Nov 1st! ?
Would love if anyone wanted to introduce themselves, and why they decided to apply to UCI nursing masters program.
I will start!
I am in my last semester of college! WOO WOO! Graduating with my bachelors in Kinesiology, and I currently have a 3.63 GPA. I have over 300 hours of volunteer/ clinical experience. I have over 50 shadowing hours for different nurses, and doctors. I chose UCI because they have access to some of the best hospitals, but I chose Masters, because I am sure as you all know BSN and ADN programs are so impacted and only care about numbers. (Yes I know this program is extremely competitive ;-;) UCI looks at other things besides numbers, which for me is important.
I just submitted my application today (I know late) but I unfortunately had a lot of unexpected events happens in the past two month that caused a huge delay ? so I am hoping it doesn't affect my application too much.
Good luck everyone, I wish we could all just get accepted.
ALSO..... did anyone else flinch when they saw the price of the application ;-;
I just finished mine too and feel the same way. I froze for like 30 seconds during some of the answers!! Terrible experience overall. Questions weren't at all what I thought they might be.
I agree, I was prepared for the questions to be different. Glad I'm not the only one who is feeling this way. I also felt rushed by the 1.5 mins to answer the question.
There is nothing we can do about it now. I saw on last year's forum someone commented not to lose hope bc they felt they did bad on their interview yet still received an acceptance. So let's try to stay positive ?

Yes, I made my own question to answer to try and give them more insight into who I am.
I did terribly. I prepared so much and practiced different common nursing school questions. However, those questions I got were very different from my expectation. Maybe I was too nervous to. I feel horrible ? I screwed up mine.

I felt the same way after my interview. Questions were nothing like what I prepared for and I felt like I froze and stuttered watching the time count down. I definitely prefer a face to face modality! ?

Yes, I'm basing this off from last year. I was reading last year's thread and they received interviews around the same time as us so I'm guessing that we will know admission decisions around February 8-9 ??

Okay, thanks. Hoping I hear back from them before Friday when I'm supposed to go interview at USD. USD's program is significantly more expensive and their interview process sounds incredibly stressful. I'd honestly like to save myself the trip from Long Beach if I know I got in at UCI.
I believe applicants heard back last year on the 9th and they were asked to interview a few days after we got our invites. Based off of that I hope we do hear back by the 8th-9th. It's hard not to constantly think about it LOL I'm trying but just anxious to hear back from UCI and other programs.

I waited last minute to complete my interview but I finished, I am as well a bit discouraged LOL
