Hi Everyone!
I wanted to create this forum because I haven't seen one for this cycle. I figured it would be a good way to connect with others who are going through the application process, are scared, nervous, excited, or lost. (or maybe all of the above) Also just a great way to stay updated with the application cycle. The application closes on Nov 1st! ?
Would love if anyone wanted to introduce themselves, and why they decided to apply to UCI nursing masters program.
I will start!
I am in my last semester of college! WOO WOO! Graduating with my bachelors in Kinesiology, and I currently have a 3.63 GPA. I have over 300 hours of volunteer/ clinical experience. I have over 50 shadowing hours for different nurses, and doctors. I chose UCI because they have access to some of the best hospitals, but I chose Masters, because I am sure as you all know BSN and ADN programs are so impacted and only care about numbers. (Yes I know this program is extremely competitive ;-;) UCI looks at other things besides numbers, which for me is important.
I just submitted my application today (I know late) but I unfortunately had a lot of unexpected events happens in the past two month that caused a huge delay ? so I am hoping it doesn't affect my application too much.
Good luck everyone, I wish we could all just get accepted.
ALSO..... did anyone else flinch when they saw the price of the application ;-;
Rosd08 said:Did the interview last year. You have one chance to record your response. However, you can listen to it as soon as you stop recording, again you aren't able to make changes. I think it should take you max 30min to complete. Best of luck !
Thank you. This was very helpful. Do you remember any of the questions, or what they were about? I appreciate any insight you could provide.
I don't really remember the questions. However, I don't believe I can provide any information about the interview questions regardless. I can say that you are given about 30 seconds to a minute to think of your answer before recording. My advice would be to record 1 to two minute mock interviews on your laptop/phone. If you mess up, just keep the recording going. Continue to do this until you feel more comfortable. This way you can mimic what it's like on the actual interview; no pauses and no redos.

From what I saw on the previous forum, it looks like they give out acceptances 1-2 weeks after interviews close, and they call accepted applicants. They also give out waitlisted decisions. But those that got denied did not find out till months later it seems ?
I am terrified and excited. I have not completed my interview yet, and do not plan to do so until Thursday because I am getting married tomorrow (my week has been extremely hectic LOL). I am trying to prep as much as I can until then! I am hoping I can showcase who I am.

Should take about 20 minutes to complete. You are given about 2 minutes of think time and have about a minute and a half to respond.
I don't think it would be wise to answer anything in relation to the questions that were asked. While many would like to help, I'm sure no one wants to risk their chance of getting into a school by sharing anything about confidential questions. If you want to be a nurse, learn to handle stressful situations. I don't think you need to take this out on future potential classmates
