University of California, Irvine (UCI) Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) 2024

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to create this forum because I haven't seen one for this cycle. I figured it would be a good way to connect with others who are going through the application process, are scared, nervous, excited, or lost. (or maybe all of the above) Also just a great way to stay updated with the application cycle. The application closes on Nov 1st! ?

Would love if anyone wanted to introduce themselves, and why they decided to apply to UCI nursing masters program.

I will start!

I am in my last semester of college! WOO WOO! Graduating with my bachelors in Kinesiology, and I currently have a 3.63 GPA. I have over 300 hours of volunteer/ clinical experience. I have over 50 shadowing hours for different nurses, and doctors. I chose UCI because they have access to some of the best hospitals, but I chose Masters, because I am sure as you all know BSN and ADN programs are so impacted and only care about numbers. (Yes I know this program is extremely competitive ;-;) UCI looks at other things besides numbers, which for me is important.

I just submitted my application today (I know late) but I unfortunately had a lot of unexpected events happens in the past two month that caused a huge delay ? so I am hoping it doesn't affect my application too much.

Good luck everyone, I wish we could all just get accepted.

ALSO..... did anyone else flinch when they saw the price of the application ;-;

The application is due November 30

I am not sure, I currently am finishing up the chemistry prerequisite, hopefully I will end with an A! Also I don't believe UCI looks at science GPA, they specifically look at your cumulative undergraduate GPA.

How long is your statement of purpose and personal statement? I'm kinda afraid if mine is too short. For me, my personal statement is 1000 and statement of purpose is around 900

Hi hi, I read somewhere that we didn't need a personal statement anymore, but just a statement of purpose! (chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://nursing.uci.edu/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Fall-2023-MEPN-Application-Essay-Prompt.pdf)

I just submitted my application super late! Wishing all of us luck! Does anyone know when we might get interview invites? Or what the interview process is like?

Hi everyone,

From what I've read in previous threads the interview invites should come in mid January.
As far as the interview, you have to record and submit your answers to a set of questions. I don't know the type of questions they ask.

Question, did y'all receive both a UCI student ID number and an application reference number when you submitted your application?

Hi There!

I have not received a UCI student ID nor an application reference number; I submitted my application before the due date.

Did you receive both as yer?

Hi guys!

I'm just curious if anyone has heard anything yet.

Do you think they'll be sending out interviews soon?
