Hi Everyone!
I wanted to create this forum because I haven't seen one for this cycle. I figured it would be a good way to connect with others who are going through the application process, are scared, nervous, excited, or lost. (or maybe all of the above) Also just a great way to stay updated with the application cycle. The application closes on Nov 1st! ?
Would love if anyone wanted to introduce themselves, and why they decided to apply to UCI nursing masters program.
I will start!
I am in my last semester of college! WOO WOO! Graduating with my bachelors in Kinesiology, and I currently have a 3.63 GPA. I have over 300 hours of volunteer/ clinical experience. I have over 50 shadowing hours for different nurses, and doctors. I chose UCI because they have access to some of the best hospitals, but I chose Masters, because I am sure as you all know BSN and ADN programs are so impacted and only care about numbers. (Yes I know this program is extremely competitive ;-;) UCI looks at other things besides numbers, which for me is important.
I just submitted my application today (I know late) but I unfortunately had a lot of unexpected events happens in the past two month that caused a huge delay ? so I am hoping it doesn't affect my application too much.
Good luck everyone, I wish we could all just get accepted.
ALSO..... did anyone else flinch when they saw the price of the application ;-;
I just interviewed! It was not bad you guys ! Have a few stories/experiences in mind. Some are geared towards diversity and how would you want to be a pillar (my words) post program. and u get two minutes before and then a 1...2...3 then it records and you get to watch it but no retakes ! Just breathe! As a gal who gets flustered the questions were not set up to make you feel stumped ! Just reiterate your passion snd link it to the field of nursing !

Just for a few seconds while the video recording uploads but there's not a significant amount of time between questions. I recommend using the whole two minutes to prepare for the question even if you don't need them, just to do some breathing techniques to keep yourself collected. At this point, they know that we are all more than qualified and rather just want to see our passion/personality shine through the interview. You're going to do great :))

I am terrified and excited. I have not completed my interview yet, and do not plan to do so until Thursday because I am getting married tomorrow (my week has been extremely hectic LOL). I am trying to prep as much as I can until then! I am hoping I can showcase who I am.
Congratulations on your wedding & best of luck with the interview process! You have been so kind and such a help! :))
Just finished my interview and I am feeling pretty discouraged right now. Even though I prepared, as soon as I got a question my mind would draw an immediate blank. I have never been more nervous for an interview in my life. I am just hoping that they will consider the other parts of my application more heavily than the interview.
I just finished mine too and feel the same way. I froze for like 30 seconds during some of the answers!! Terrible experience overall. Questions weren't at all what I thought they might be.

Does anyone have any thoughts?
I interviewed yesterday but I did want to share what I saw in previous forums. If you did not receive an invitation to interview it is likely you did not get accepted. Sorry ? Did you apply to other programs? I've applied to 3 so far.

Thank you for the info. I think people wants to know if the interview questions are more general or situational. Not meant what exact questions were asked
