I wanted to create this forum because I haven't seen one for this cycle. I figured it would be a good way to connect with others who are going through the application process, are scared, nervous, excited, or lost. (or maybe all of the above) Also just a great way to stay updated with the application cycle. The application closes on Nov 1st! ?
Would love if anyone wanted to introduce themselves, and why they decided to apply to UCI nursing masters program.
I will start!
I am in my last semester of college! WOO WOO! Graduating with my bachelors in Kinesiology, and I currently have a 3.63 GPA. I have over 300 hours of volunteer/ clinical experience. I have over 50 shadowing hours for different nurses, and doctors. I chose UCI because they have access to some of the best hospitals, but I chose Masters, because I am sure as you all know BSN and ADN programs are so impacted and only care about numbers. (Yes I know this program is extremely competitive ;-;) UCI looks at other things besides numbers, which for me is important.
I just submitted my application today (I know late) but I unfortunately had a lot of unexpected events happens in the past two month that caused a huge delay ? so I am hoping it doesn't affect my application too much.
Good luck everyone, I wish we could all just get accepted.
ALSO..... did anyone else flinch when they saw the price of the application ;-;

Someone was called right at 5pm. If they were pushing it that close, maybe they didn't get to everyone today. It seems that the first call didn't go out until after 3. It also seems like ~half of the people who are waitlisted end up getting in, so keep your hopes up for tomorrow.
Also, my last name is Simmons, so technically still after everyone who has been called LOL
This is rough. My last name starts with V so I kept hoping I'd hear back around 5.
Hang in there y'all and try not to be too sad. Maybe we'll get on the waitlist.

I didn't get an acceptance email ? feeling a bit discouraged to get so close and lose my dream. The fights not over yet. Keep pushing yall. Maybe somehow some way we will get notified. My portal says nothing in terms of a yay or nay my last name started with an O ?
Maybe they called only some of us today and couldn't get to everyone by the end of the workday! I have no more hope for myself, as I know I didn't do well on the interview, but keep your hopes up if you didn't get the call today. Tomorrow's another day. Congrats to all who got the call!

Thank you for this positivity Ella!! I've been watching this convo since 3:00pm and have not received a phone call so I'm feeling extremely sad.

I just found this forum today. I have not received a call from admissions. However, I was checking the previous year's forum thread. It seems like hope is not lost. They let the people who are waitlisted know on Friday.
Additionally, it seems like there is a deadline to accept their admission. If there is still space, the second wave comes in. I think there is another interview for that one. Best of luck to everyone! (My heart is in my stomach).
our deadline to accept is March 1st! I believe the second wave was only a thing last year (I could be wrong though)!
I wouldn't dwell too much on the results of this admission cycle. It took me two tries to get in! last year I was waitlisted at both UCI/UCLA and it felt like my life was ending when I didn't make it off it. This year I've gotten accepted almost everywhere ( pending results ). Take this as a practice run and strength your apps! we'll all be great nurses ❤️
