University of California, Irvine (UCI) Master's Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) Fall 2023

Published

Hi all,

I had seen a discussion thread last year for students who applied to UCI's MEPN program and I found the comments really helpful. Maybe by connecting we can see when invitations to interview are sent out. ? I did see that UCI was expanding its MEPN program this year which is exciting!

A little about me-I am pursuing nursing at the mid stages of my life. I have a degree in Health Education and Health Promotion and community health nursing is my aspiration! Hope we can connect!

I am also throwing my hat into other degree programs- CSUF, Golden West, Saddleback, Vanguard. Basically anywhere that fits my goals and budget ?

I am in same boat! ?

That makes me feel a little better. I got denied by UCLA today so all my eggs are in one basket now and it's torture! Good luck to you ??

I hope everyone will land somewhere. I also put all my eggs into UCLA and UCI; I couldn't see myself pursing nursing in any other master's nursing programs. Thankfully UCLA came to the rescue, so I will most likely take their offer to be safe. However, I do love UCI's price tag more than UCLA. Best of luck to everyone.

Do you mind sharing by when do you have to commit to ucla?

According to the email, we have to respond back by 3/8/23. I am concerned UCI won't tell us (waitlisted students) any time soon since UCLA's deadline is prior to UCI.

How much more expensive is UCLA? I thought they were basically the same price since they're both UC

Someone from the UCLA discord group actually pointed something out. It seems like UCLA is not pricy after all. Originally, I thought it was 60k per year so 120k per a total of two years. Based on the pie chart and confirmed response by the male panelist during the recent MECN video, he stated 60k+ for both two years. Hopefully that is the correct, estimated figure.

I've created a facebook group for students who have been accepted to the UCI MEPN program starting Fall 2023!

Hi y'all! I was wondering how y'all accepted the interview invitation. They sent me a second email to accept the invitation without starting the interview but the link directs me to sign in with my email, but I'm nervous if this will begin my interview which I'm not ready for right now LOL. What have y'all done to accept the invitation?

Hey! I just submitted my application for the second wave apps. I didn't know there was an interview if they move forward with the application. It's not listed on their website or mentioned in the information session slides. Did you know prior to submitting there was going to be an interview?

Oh yeah they invited me to do a recorded video interview. I think I found that information somewhere on the UCI website, but only after I got the invitation to record the interview, so it did come as a surprise to me too. I remember that the information was not easy to find on the website.

Hey all! I just wanted to check in to see if any has heard from UCI since the beginning of February?  I applied by the priority deadline (did the interview, etc), but didn't get an acceptance OR waitlisted?? I'm hoping no news is good news, but I'm starting to get really stressed as the other couple of schools I was admitted to are asking me to commit within the next couple of days.  Anyone in the same boat or know anything about the admissions process? Thank you and good luck to everyone ❤️

The deadline they gave to the first wave of admitted applicants to accept or turn down their offer of admission is 3/14. So I imagine they will make more decisions following 3/14 and will send out more responses soon.
