Hey everyone! I am planning to apply to the degree holder route for nursing at the University of Calgary for January 2021. I found this site by reading through the University of Calgary, January 2020 forum and thought it would be good to start one for this next years in take.

I am currently finishing my English prerequisite and my anatomy and physiology course at Athabasca. Last year it looked like the GPA cut off was a 3.6 and that most people over a 3.7 got accepted.

For those of you who have been accepted, just a heads up that we can enroll in our classes! You have to pay your deposit first. For me, course registration appeared 3 days after I paid the deposit.

Hi !! 

Has anyone with international transcripts been accepted yet? Does anyone know roughly the number of seats reserved each year for international students? 

On Friday my status changed to "We are currently assessing one or more of your courses to determine whether it can be used as one of the required courses for this program." Hopefully I will hear back soon. I have seen other people with the same message that have been waiting for 3 weeks or more.

Does anyone know if the Winter semester is going to be all online, or if it'll be on campus?

They told me classes will be online and labs/practical courses will be in person

Hey guys, 

I'm an external applicant with a 3.65 GPA. Pretty surprised that I was put on a waitlist given that they normally only accept students with at least a 3.8. Was expecting a rejection right away. I know my likelihood is quite low of getting in and I'm currently taking 2 online courses to bump up my GPA to hopefully a 3.84 and reapply for Fall 2021. However, I'm curious to know when they start admitting students from the waitlist? Does anyone know?

Hi, so sorry for the late response! I haven't been on here for sometime. I called admissions and they said my GPA should be a rough estimate. I called a few times and each time no one was able to convert it and give me a sure answer. We'll just have to wait and see I guess :(

I applied for Alberta Student Loans before I got my acceptance offer. They will approve your loan right away, and then it is finalized once the U of C sends them confirmation of your registration. It's nice to get that done early, and factored into the budget ?

They have suspended the campus recreation fees for this year, since we will have limited access to those facilities.

Did you apply for Winter 2021 or did you also apply for the Spring semester? It's confusing since we have class all year except for Summer.

Congratulations to everyone that got in.

I'm an international student and my application recently got cancelled. my GPA was below average. 

I would need help in what easy courses I can take to boost my GPA. I currently have a B+ in A&P, B+ English and B+ in Statistics (took them at Athabasca). 

Your advice and tips will be very much appreciated.

So sorry to hear this! Were your other courses below a B+?
