Hello, I’m applying for the U of C degrees holder route for January 2020. Just want to say hi to other applicants. I applied on July 2nd and have not got any update on my application.

Thanks for your response. That's pretty low. Maybe 1 more A will help bring it up

Tbh if she can retake the anatomy course, she should because it's a full year course which means that she got C's in two normal courses because one full year course equals two half courses. One more A will bring it up but not by a lot, as compared to if she improves her grade in her anatomy course.

I am also in the same dilemma. However, I spoke to the nursing advisor and was asked to take anatomy again. Don’t know when you did the anatomy tho but if it is recent Then You would have to do new 5 courses to push the anatomy out because the previous anatomy would count as one of the most recent courses. And they would just use the highest grade of the anatomy for the prerequisite and the old anatomy counts as 5 most recent course.

Hmmm that's an option though. Taking anatomy again is just going to be too much work

Hi I have a question of GPA calculations. How did you calculate your university courses. I studied in the UK and my last 5 courses was worth 15credit each, will they take an average of the 5 courses plus my pre-requisite? I’m confused.

Specializes in QA technician.

Hi guys,

I just got the email from admission. They told me for degree-holder, they are accepting people with GPA 3.56+ now.

They told me my GPA is calculated at 3.52 while I calculated as 3.59. I took A&P twice and apparently they calculated the one with lower mark. And I took one University writing course and they did not consider it as a comparable English literature course.

I do not know if I still have chance or they would like to reassess my GPA. Seems like I have to stay patient for another few weeks.

I studied in UK too. They only took 3 courses from my uk courses. And I was told the 3 courses they took was equivalent to 15credit. If you are in Calgary you can pay university of Calgary enrollment office a visit they will show you how your CGPA is calculated. It was 15credit from prerequisites and completed and 15credit from the UK. Hope this helps

You should definitely ask them to reasses your file! They calculated mine wrong at first as well and if I didn’t ask them to correct it, I wouldn’t have gotten in!
