I don’t see many posts or threads about University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Capstone College of Nursing. They offer FNP or PMHNP or dual degree. I am applying for their FNP program Fall 2020. Anyone else also applying? Or anyone who has gone through their program, tell me about it. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply...I was asking about the time frame you had to respond to the acceptance letter you received on Feb. 6th. Still waiting to hear on FNP!

Oh, sorry. I had to first submit to a drug screen and background check. Once those were received by UA (~5 days after I completed them), I got my official letter with directions to submit other paperwork and my intent to enroll form. According to their email I had to submit them by Aug 1st, which seems like it's cutting it quite close to the fall semester. But I didn't ask any questions.

Yes! Cutting it real close! I know most people apply to more than one school, so I wondered if there was a shorter time frame to open up seats for other applicants. Waiting is so nerve-racking! Not sure why some received notification Feb 6th and around Feb 18th and then some of us...nothing! Fingers crossed, prayers said, and waiting not so patiently!

I applied to the dual FNP-PMHNP DNP program. Maybe MH dual program doesn’t have as many applicants as FNP??? IDK. I would definitely double check my spam folder and call just to “check up on things” haha. I checked in and emailed quite a bit haha.

Thanks for all of the info! I did call a few weeks ago, asking when to expect to hear and they said: "in the next couple of weeks". This week should be the week and next week is Spring break for U of A! LOL

Hi everyone. I have accepted UA's offer for their DNP program. I set up a facebook page already (LOL) for anyone that will be joining me this Fall. https://www.facebook.com/groups/231378998262542/

Well I was accepted for the MSN FNP program starting this Fall, I did not desire to pursue the DNP but I am sure we will have many classes together so I would like to join. CONGRATS!!

Bmack, I was not interested in the DNP program at this time, either. I only applied to the MSN FNP track, but still no news!

I just got my acceptance into University of Alabama Roll Tide FNP program for fall 2020!

Congratulations Hotlando and to all beforehand!! Still, waiting and just wondering why it is so sporadic and spread out!?!

CONGRATS again!!

But I also got a free ride at the University of Phoenix so not sure what to do?

Free Ride helps...I don't know anything about the University of Phoenix so I am no help there. Will you continue to work full time? That would be a big factor in the decision. But if you are going to continue to work and your job will pay a good part of it, then that is also a big factor! Does one program start sooner than the other one? Either one you chose, will have the same end result! But, those "LIFE" decisions are not always easy!

Best of Luck!
