I don’t see many posts or threads about University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Capstone College of Nursing. They offer FNP or PMHNP or dual degree. I am applying for their FNP program Fall 2020. Anyone else also applying? Or anyone who has gone through their program, tell me about it. Thanks!

Did you get an email or notification ahead of time regarding when they would call? I’m getting worried I may have missed a call and with all the spam calls I get, I don’t answer unknown numbers.
Hello! So how did you get your scholarships? Did your just apply for various ones offered nationwide? I honestly thought I’d have no way of getting one since it’s not my first degree, so I never tried.
Thank you! The interview process wasn’t too bad. They’ll send you a link that walks you through setting up your computer for it. They have prerecorded questions for you to respond to. They have practice questions which aren’t videotaped, and you can practice responding to those as many times as you’d like before preceding on to the actual recorded interview questions. I spent a lot of time on the practice questions, substituting in questions I thought they would ask during the interview. You have a time limit to respond to each question, which I thought was pretty stressful. It was over pretty quickly.

UGH- My invitation went to junk mail. I just finished the interview. overall how did you feel about yours after? Obviously, you did well. I feel like I rambled. It looks like I may know in a week or so based on your experience.
Um, honestly I felt numb afterwards, haha. I wasn’t confident in my responses because I felt a little panicked by the time constraints. I did restate each question to make sure I answered each sub-question. I did awkwardly cut one response like 15secs short because i didn’t think I could elaborate more on the question. I thought that was going to do me in haha. But i guess I didn’t do as poorly as I thought.

I didn’t receive my invitation until after 2/1. I know that the application process was different for the class starting fall 2019, no interview was required and people found out in April. If recall my friend who was accepted that term said 100 between all specialties.
I just did my interview. The email for it was sent Friday but I had other things going on. Hopefully that won't affect admission. However, I've been accepted to other schools and not sure this one fits my needs. Can anyone tell me if you are unable to find preceptors in time, do you fail or do you have to wait until the next cycle for that class?

I submitted my application in middle December, but I had to re-submit a document in mid-January. After calling to get it all straightened out, my application was officially “completed” and I got an email a day or two after asking for me to sit for a virtual interview. It can be done on your own time, because they are pre-recorded questions. They tape your response. Maybe it isn’t required by all applicants(??). But you can always call and see what the next step is for you.
