I don’t see many posts or threads about University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) Capstone College of Nursing. They offer FNP or PMHNP or dual degree. I am applying for their FNP program Fall 2020. Anyone else also applying? Or anyone who has gone through their program, tell me about it. Thanks!

I just got my acceptance letter! Now I have to decide. If anybody can tell me more about UAs program, I would appreciate it very much!

I just did my interview. The email for it was sent Friday but I had other things going on. Hopefully that won't affect admission. However, I've been accepted to other schools and not sure this one fits my needs. Can anyone tell me if you are unable to find preceptors in time, do you fail or do you have to wait until the next cycle for that class?

You must have a preceptor before you can register for the semester the clinical is in. If you start in the fall of 2020 you start looking then for preceptors for the summer of 2021 (First clinical).

Thank you! Do they do 16 week semesters for each class or split it up in 8 week terms per class? I’d rather do one class at a time per term and get two out of the way per semester. And how stressful are intensives on campus?

If you are full time you take 3 classes at the same time during the semester. There is a lot of busy work but many manage to work full-time. I went PRN,its to much for me to work full-time. I have not been to an on campus session yet. My first one is in May. It's just one day.

Thank you so much for the insight! So many of us have wondered about this program because there is virtually nothing online and no groups. I am trying to decide between UA and Columbus State, I have been accepted into both but nothing out there about UA. So glad you were willing to share! If there is anything else I/we need to know please feel free to comment. I appreciate you!

I’m looking to begin at Alabama for FNP/PMHNP DNP this Fall. How involved was the orientation process if at all? Do we need to go to campus? I’m taking a family trip end of July, and I’m anxiously waiting the next steps for me to take.

I started last fall and I have not been to campus yet. Orientation was an online powerpoint module that you had to watch.

I called the University of Alabama. The admissions rep said they extended the deadline until 2/7. She said decisions would be mailed out in March has anyone been told this also? This is for University of Alabama roll tide not the University of South Alabama (USA).

Has anyone else received notification of acceptance to the University of Alabama Fall 2020 FNP program? Wondering how many applied and how many they accept!?!

Hi everyone. I have accepted UA's offer for their DNP program. I set up a facebook page already (LOL) for anyone that will be joining me this Fall. https://www.facebook.com/groups/231378998262542/

Can I ask what your deadline date was?

I was under the impression that UA's Application deadline was March 1st for Fall admissions. My application was "complete" mid January-ish.
