Universities with prearranged NP Practicums

Nursing Students NP Students

Does anyone here have a list of Universities that pre-arrange practicums for NP students? I am so sick and tired of trying to find my own while trying to go to school and work. This is absolutely absurd! I am single (without children) and I am willing to relocate to another state if necessary.

Also what are the chances that I could transfer to another school this late in the game? I have two classes left before practicums begin.

Thanks for any responses.

I recently graduated from Duke and they arrange clinicals for you...but the tuition is $$$$$$!

I go to the University of Maryland, Baltimore, and all the clinicals are arranged for us. I think this is true at Johns Hopkins Unversity down the road.

I will be starting at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI.

Clinical sites and preceptors are arranged for us, including at Mayo Clinic Health System.

Specializes in Neurology, Psychology, Family medicine.

University of south Florida, university of central Florida, university of Florida all arrange preceptors and sites for their students.

What level of experience do they have?

Most brick and mortar schools will arrange clinical for you. If you are looking at an online school, best to contact them personally.

I'm no so sure that's true. I know some very good B&M programs and their students have to find their own clinicals. They may help them at the last minute, but then the student is way behind in getting their hours in.

I'll have to mention that to my friends who got their NP through those schools. Have things changed recently? I think we nee to hear from students who went to those schools. At least one of them did not provide clinicals for their students. Maybe, they're operating differently now.

Michigan State University arranges your clinicals/preceptors for you. The didactic coursework is all online. A few are "hybrid" courses where you come to campus 5 times during the semester (2 courses). Clinicals are all pre-arranged in Michigan. You may have to do clinicals in community health centers, county jail, etc. You don't get to choose your location, although they will take into consideration where you live relative to assigning a clinical location. Applications are already closed for 2018. Next open application cycle is for Fall 2019 start. If you're transferring, you can only transfer 12 credits.

Well I go to one, a friend from nursing school went to the other and just graduated and they do as well. The last school I spoke with the dean prior to going to my school and she said they do. So I would check your facts.

What facts are you referring to? I asked if things have changed recently? I know several people who graduated from one of the programs, one that is a current student and one that teaches, so that's what I'm going by. Again, my question was "have things changed?" This is a legitimate question since many students do not want to be burdened with finding their own clinical rotations. I went through that, but didn't know ahead of time.

What school in particular are you referring to then? Hard to say if things have changed if we are being ambiguous. USF 100% does. UCF I'm currently reaching out to confirm. My understanding is from at least 2016 forward they did as well. UF unless something recently changed finds your clinical site as well

In reply to Jules A:

They are all DNPs, and most have been NPs for 10 years or more. They are all adult and/or acute care, as that is my track. Some do procedures, like bronchs, chest tubes etc.
