Union University Spring 2014

Published

Hey All!

I have applied for Union's Spring 2014 ABSN program at Hendersonville. I submitted all of my application material on April 16 and NursingCAS finalized/"verified" & forwarded my application to Union on May 1. I am still anxiously waiting to hear something back! Are there any other applicants out there for Spring 2014? Have you heard anything back yet? Best of luck to any of you!

No problem, I hope you were able to get through!

Hello,

I am pretty behind on signing up for this message board even though I have been reading it for months! I was accepted into the ABSN program in the beginning of October and it feels time has flown by since then! Cathy Wright explained in an email a while back that there was a Facebook page set up for all of us but I am not a member of the site. I was hoping to get to know at least a few of my future classmates on here!

Hi @buffaloalumtdh! It's nice to meet you! This whole process has definitely flown by! I'm excited to get started & finally meet everyone in a few months! Are you local or moving to the area? I'm on facebook & will keep you up to date on here if there's anything that comes up.

Thank you so much! I would love to stay in the loop. I will be commuting from Thompsons Station. For the first round of classes I will only be traveling down three days a week at most due to credit transfer. How about you? The financial aid woman led me to believe I'm on the young side of people in the program. I'm 22 almost 23 if you don't mind me asking how old are you? This whole thing is so different than my first degree it's hard to mentally prepare for it!

I currently live in Smyrna, but we just recently decided to change plans & move to Goodlettsville to be closer to Union. I will only be at Union twice a week for the first 8 weeks & then I'll be down to just online classes the 2nd 8 weeks. From what I can tell on Facebook, there are actually quite a few people your age. I just turned 28 last month & have been scared that I might be one of the older ones. I have a business degree, so this is very different for me as well. I spent my career in health care administration though, so I'm hoping that my experiences help make the transition a little easier. By the way, I'm not sure if you read through prior posts but my name is Dana.

Hi Dana!

My name is Tessa. My first degree is psychology. However I went to college in Colorado so I'm not that great at cities around Tn. Where did you go to college for your first degree? There are 29 of us correct?

Well that makes two of us! I'm not from TN either & have only been in Nashville for about a year now, so I feel like I'm still trying to learn this side of the state myself! I went to UT- Knoxville for undergrad. I wasn't sure how many people were in our cohort, but I figured it was somewhere around 30.

Hey Tessa! I'm 22 as well and my first degree was also in Psychology! I am originally from Mount Juliet, TN but have lived in Alexandria, TN for almost 3 years now. Like yourself, I also not on facebook so I've been using this to get to know people as well! I'm ready to start bCk into the swing of things. I graduated from TTU back in May & having this semester off has been a real change for me. January-March I have night class Tuesday nights (6-845) morning class Wednesday 830-1230 & morning class Thursday 800-12 plus the online class. March- may I will have the same night class on Tuesdays (6-845) and morning class Mondays & Thursdays 830-1230 with the 2 online classes. It's nice to meet you & my name is Ashley :)

Ashley- I'm not sure if we're all taking the same class sections together for the most part or not, but if your Wed morning class is Nur 302 (70865) & Thurs morning is Bio 300 (70927) the first 8 weeks, I will see you in them:)

Yes that's what both of mine are! I'm on Pinterest and Instagram -- apartridge232 if you have either one of those. Me & Dana have some very helpful nursing boards with study tips etc on there that I think will be helpful!

Crap!! Sorry thought that was in reply to Tessa, I saw your name as soon as I hit post! Lol. Oops! But yes, we have those together! :)

I'm so glad to find another person out there without a Facebook it's definitely rare these days! It sounds like I have the same schedule as you, Ashley except I am not in the one that starts in March I believe that is Microbiology. If I'm correct Dana you were able to transfer in more classes than me. How far are both of you commuting? Have either of you done CPR I'm doing mine on Dec 14th in Nashville if either of you are interested I can give you the info?
