Hey All!
I have applied for Union's Spring 2014 ABSN program at Hendersonville. I submitted all of my application material on April 16 and NursingCAS finalized/"verified" & forwarded my application to Union on May 1. I am still anxiously waiting to hear something back! Are there any other applicants out there for Spring 2014? Have you heard anything back yet? Best of luck to any of you!

I have also applied for Union University Hendersonville campus spring 2014 ABSN program. I have had my applicatiion complete as of the middle of July. I have not heard anything back yet either. I have talked to the lady incharge of nursing admissions on multiple occasions and she said that we may not hear of acceptance until late November at the latest and we will be notified by email. I am really hoping to hear something before then. Have you still not heard anythin back??
Thank you so much for an update! I emailed the lady asking when I should expect to hear back with a couple other questions & did not get an answer to that one. I still have not heard anything back & was getting really nervous because I found somewhere online where someone said they already received an acceptance letter for Spring. I was debating on applying to Cumberland as well if I didn't get into Union so I was putting it off until I heard something. I guess I'll go ahead & apply there just in case since we won't know anything for awhile on Union. Have you applied elsewhere?
I am so glad to hear of someone that's going through the same thing as me!! I began my application in May and had everything in before the original June 1st deadline, then they extended it to August 1st. So I assume that probably pushed back the date of when we will hear something. I have read on other boards that most people it takes 7-9 weeks to hear something. So I'm thinking it will be probably late September or October before we hear something. I think the ones that may have already received an acceptance letter applied for the very first deadline, so they have already heard something back.
I have been stressing out about not having a backup plan too incase I don't get accepted. Cumberland would be a lot closer to my house for me, but I dont have like 3 of the pre reqs they require for their BSN program. So I was in a situation where I didn't know if I should pay the money and take those pre reqs this fall and like yourself, apply for the cumberland program as a back up. But I eventually voted against that. So I have applied to Aquinas College as a backup but it is only an RN program, not BSN. So i'm really hoping to get into union for the spring, but if not Aquinas is my back up. And then if worse comes to worse.. I will reapply to union, aquinas and also take the pre reqs for cumberlands program and reapply for the fall. Do you live close to Lebanon? I live in Alexandria.. so I am like an hour away from Union and will have a very lengthy drive back and forth everyday. I am just ready to hear something soon!
I'm applying to the regular Cumberland program at the main campus. I'm planning on taking their entrance exam on the 20th which has me scared. The main campus program only requires A&P 1 & 2 and Microbiology. I did contact someone at Cumberland awhile ago & they said that you could have some of the pre-reqs in progress at the time of application as long as they were done before the program started. Not sure if that would be of any help to you.
I currently live in Smyrna, but we're moving into Nashville near the Hermitage area in January so both Union & Cumberland will be about a half hour commute for me.
Please keep me posted if you hear anything from Union & I'll do the same. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us:)!

For Cumberland you can only have 9 credit hours left of pre reqs when you start the spring program. The 9 credit hours cannot be a&p 1,2 or micro. There is a full list of pre reqs to be complete.
Yeah that's what I was told, you have to have those 3 complete before the start of the program, but they can be in progress when you apply. As long as you have at least one of the other 4 classes required already knocked out you'll fall within the 9 hours allowed during the program & you should be fine.
I don't have microbiology or chemistry that cumberland required & it would be like $1500 to take those & if I get into unions program like I'm hoping.. That money could have been put towards my student loans or something. Idk I've been on the fence about it but think I am going to take my chances and hopefully get into unions or the aquinas one since I have everything conpleted already. Good luck on your entrance exam!! I'm sure you'll do great! If you don't mind me asking.. About what area is your GPA? I think union mostly looks at your last 60 hours of your undergrad & mine is about a 3.7. I just hope that's high enough! & yes keeping fingers crossed for both of us! I grew up in hermitage and then mount juliet... Lived there basically my whole life till I got married. I'll have about an hour commute so I just hope I don't get so burnt out on the drive because I've heard the program is very intense with a 2 hour daily commute on top of that!

Hey everyone, I have applied to the spring '14 absn program as well. Does anyone know how many applicants they had to the Hendersonville campus or how competitive it is? I'm just curious.
@apartridge232- That makes sense. I'm sure you'll get into Union or Aquinas though. Your GPA is great! That seems to be around what I've seen people posting on here they had & got in. Mine is a 3.43 in my last 60 hours. While it's not a terrible GPA, I'm worried it's too low for Union, but I'm not sure. That's part of why I'm a little anxious to hear back.
Oops- sorry for the double post!
@Jrpalmer8- I don't know, but I really wish I did! Which application deadline did you apply for? Keep us posted if you hear anything back! Best of luck to you:)!
