Union University Spring 2014

Published

Hey All!

I have applied for Union's Spring 2014 ABSN program at Hendersonville. I submitted all of my application material on April 16 and NursingCAS finalized/"verified" & forwarded my application to Union on May 1. I am still anxiously waiting to hear something back! Are there any other applicants out there for Spring 2014? Have you heard anything back yet? Best of luck to any of you!

Heads up! I just got an email about a drug test we have to take and the process has to be started today on the Certified Background website.

I just did the online process and made my appointment for 1:30 tomorrow. They didn't give us much notice at all! Thanks for the heads up!

Some of our classmates on facebook are talking about doing dinner prior to orientation. Tuesday has been thrown out as a suggestion, but there's nothing set in stone yet. If you guys have any input you would like me throw in, let me know.

I sent you all private messages with dinner plans. If you aren't on Facebook & I missed you, send me a private message.

Hey! I haven't been on here in so long I forgot my log in so I resigned up its Tessa, I was buffalum before Huffman is my last name so this is easier. I would love to hear the details on dinner! Also, sounds silly but I just want to double check the dress code for class. In the manual it listed things for other "experience" I am unsure if that is intended for classroom or not.

Tessa- I just sent you a private message with dinner details. As far as dress code, I'm not sure, but there is a picture on Union's Nursing School Facebook page of the first day of class for Hendersonville's BSNA a few years ago & it looks like everyone is dressed casual, with most in jeans & then anything from dress shirts to sweatshirts for tops. I'm hoping they'll address it at orientation in more detail if we need to dress any other way.

Thank you, I am unsure if I can that message, where do I find that? Are you dressing casual for orientation then? The handbook was vague in that area so I am double checking.

Found the message!

Where did you find the handbook? I saw one on the nursing site, but didn't see anything about dress code. I'm planning on wearing jeans to orientation unless I hear otherwise, in which case I'll pass the info along.

In the orientation email it had a link to the nursing handbook, the first page had people in black scrub bottoms and red scrub tops. There was a section on the dress code and the other experience section confused me. I have always wore jeans to class so wouldn't have given it much thought if I hadn't read that.

Oh yeah, I think that only applies to clinical (& maybe lab) settings. She said in a previous email that they would have the uniform people there at orientation, but we didn't need to actually buy them until summer I think it was. So my guess is normal, everyday clothes are fine, at least until then...at least I hope so!!
