Dear kdkrn20 - I hope your screen name here doesn't mean that kdk are your real-life initials. I quick-googled your union and found that they're located in Cali, Tex and Fla (and maybe maybe other States).
Anybody in their HR network could just as easily figure out if you're the newly hired kdkrn (20 yrs old???) in their system. Employers do search the WEB and the world of nursing is a small one considering ... And somebody always knows somebody.
Might you be opening up a can of worms by posting on a social media site with some 900,000 members who just may or may not all be nurses?
If yes, you might want to change your name and ask Admin to edit your post. No need to put a big old X on your back early in your employ by representing yourself as a complainer or future malcontent ... (checking out your second-to-last sentence)
This might just be a very good learning example for other new members to consider how they sign up. There is no such thing as anonymity on social media. And if I can do this type of simple early search ... it'll will be no problema for computer saavy HR. And I think there's something in the TOS (Terms of Service) when signing up here.

I recently started a job at a hospital where the nurses are a part of the National Nurses United (NNU). In our union contract, it states that evening differentials start at 3:00 pm. I am orienting on 4 - 9 hour days and get off at 4:30 pm. When I received my first paycheck, it did not have the differential factored in. I spoke with several people in HR and they stated that hospital policy states that you have to work a minimum of 2.5 hours in a shift in order to receive differential and they are allowed to do this b/c of the managerial clause. I have asked for a hospital handbook multiple times and they do not have one at this time d/t a recent acquisition by a larger company. I feel as though their actions are a breach of contract and wage theft. Am I accurate in viewing it this way?
