UNG Fall 2019 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello fellow pre-nursing students! This is a thread for those who are applying to The University of North Georgia's Nursing Program to start Fall 2019. Share your stats, HESI tips, and eventually acceptance/rejection notices. I am a post-baccalaureate transfer student and am re-taking science courses this Fall which have expired. I'm taking the HESI in about a month. Good luck to all who are applying!

Hey, guys. I retook the HESI again today and made the EXACT same score as the first time I took it. Lol. I have officially applied to the BSN program now and here are my updated stats:

GPA: 3.7

HESI: 88%

Wishing you all the best of luck with your applications and I can't wait to hear back about acceptance letters!

Hi again!

l took the HESI yesterday, made a 91.5% and have applied.

I'm a post-bacc UNG alum with a 3.56 GPA. I made all A's in the science prerequisites so far with A&P 2 left in the spring. Hopefully, they accept me!

Good luck to everyone!

Hi guys- I'm just here to post an update on my final stats. I still don't know which GPA they're going to look at. I graduated from UGA w/a 3.57 but a while ago. Got a 4.0 for one semester of grad school (not sure if they will look at that). This semester I made a 4.0 repeating pre-reqs. I have three pre-reqs to go and will finish those this Spring. 96.5 on the HESI. I feel good about my stats but not good that my prior degree is from over ten years ago! Wishing everyone the best! This program is my first choice b/c of cost and most importantly, proximity!

I have not heard of this point system but it makes sense! Thanks for sharing :)

Hi guys, so just an update.

I got 83 on HESI. arghhh. Not good at all.

So now Im at a 3.62 GPA, with a 83 HESI score.

My chance is small, but I still have hope. We will see.

Do you guys know when they send the acceptance letters?

Im on the same boat as you are. Not the highest score on block, but I will try anyway. Have you checked Clayton state university? They have a good nursing program out there. That's my plan B, if I don't get accepted into UNG. But I will still try to apply one more time for UNG though, if I am not accepted this time. Cuz it is closer to my house than Clayton State.

Hey guys! Nice to meet you all! I just applied to the program again. I tried for the program for SP 2019 but didn't get accepted, with HESI score of 85 and GPA of 3.5. I just retook the HESI and I'm lowkey angry because mine had mostly skeletal system on there which I haven't looked at since January! A&P II didn't go over skeletal so I was screwed LOL.

But I made an 88.5 this time, 90s on everything except the A&P, which I made an 84 on T-T and my GPA is probaly going to be like a 3.47 if I get a C in Microbiology. I don't know guys, I feel like I'm not a very competitive applicant and I swear that they don't just look at our HESI and GPA! No way! I've meet people with high scores and GPA that didn't get in while people with lower GPA's and scores than me got in. I'd much rather they require an essay instead of getting to know us through that personality test XD

Ok....so my last comment was meant to reply to you lol I don't know what the heck I did

Hey! I spoke with someone from the nursing department last week and she said to keep a close eye on our emails around the second week of February. We should expect to receive our letters around that time. I'm feeling so anxious with all of this. I'm just hoping my last few classes keep me occupied in the spring before our letters are sent out so I don't stress about it too much. Wishing you the best!!

Hey guys!

I took my HESI a few weeks ago and I made an 88% as well! After this semester my GPA is now a 3.8. Hoping we do hear back soon!!

Hoping for the best and enjoy the break!!

How is everyone holding up anxiously waiting for letters to come out? ?

Did you guys only apply to UNG's program or did anyone apply to any other schools in the area?

Ahhh I was just about to ask too! I'm super anxious. I'm taking A&P 2 now and am not motivated at all and won't be until I have a letter.

I considering UTC-Chattanooga...I don't really have a back up plan, which is terrible.

How about you?
