UNG Fall 2019 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello fellow pre-nursing students! This is a thread for those who are applying to The University of North Georgia's Nursing Program to start Fall 2019. Share your stats, HESI tips, and eventually acceptance/rejection notices. I am a post-baccalaureate transfer student and am re-taking science courses this Fall which have expired. I'm taking the HESI in about a month. Good luck to all who are applying!

Hi everyone! I also got accepted to the Gainesville campus for this fall. Question....has anyone had Jason Robinson for Chem 1151 or 1152? That's my last prerequisite and I'm taking it this summer. Thanks!

I am taking him over this summer as well. Apparently he has some of the best reviews on ratemyprofessors for Chem 1152 for a summer course!

I also recommend Professor Todebush for the summer! She was AMAZING! I made a B but she was very understanding and made her test according to the students(multiple choice, open-ended, etc.) She's also very happy to answer any questions. I believe she's the head of the chemistry department as well. She goes fast but that was because it was the summer class lol

I would recommend Prof William "Bill" P. Ellenberger. Looks like he is only teaching 1152. I took him for both 1151 and 1152 and made As in both. He assigns a few worksheets throughout the course for HW and is usually flexible about when they are due/doesn't count off if you are late turning in. He does use Mastering Chem, but everything is due at the end. However, doing it as you go helps solidify and gets you ready for tests. His lectures are straight PowerPoint from the book and he goes slow enough to make sure everyone understands. He is a little goofy but is always willing to help. ?

We just got an email from them! Looks like the Nursing 2603 class isn't online or in summer anymore. We're taking it during the fall in class! I don't know how to feel about this lol. Also, would anyone be interested in making like a group chat or page on facebook? Just something we can use to communicate as a cohort

I think a facebook page would be great and convenient to use!

I accepted as well. I got accepted at Gwinnett Tech too. I have to make a decision now... ?

Rejected. For future nurses trying to apply, my stats are 3.61 GPA, and 83 on HESI.

For those who were rejected, dont lose hope. If nursing is what's in your heart, then go and apply again. That's what I am going to do.

My advisor told me that my HESI probably took me down this time.

My second option is Clayton State University. I will apply there as well, and reapply for UNG for spring 2020.

Clayton State is a good program as well, but it might be too far for some of you.

Good luck to all of you who got in!

Hey y’all! Has anyone had chem 1152 with nicki driver? Thoughts?

Hello everyone,

I am currently going for my associates in allied health at ung, want to apply for the nursing program here. I currently have 3.6 gpa. Is anyone on here a TA for any required science classes that could help mentor me or anyone that has tips on how to approach the upcoming semesters, taking the HESI, things to study for ahead of time? Literally any information helps! Thanks!

I have seen alot of people on here talk about how the a&p cliff notes help & the Elsevier book helps. Can anyone send a link or tell me where to go to get access to these? Thanks
