Did anyone out there apply to this program? Just wanted to start correspondence to get through the wait.
Wow, that's a 2 hour trip, right?
Also, in case anyone cares, I spoke with an advisor today and she still says Mid May at the latest. I asked her what the criteria was for decisions and the first thing she said was GPA. Then she talked about having the req'd experience. Then she mentioned personal statement and following the checklist.
UPDATE...
I went to the information session tonight. I spent all my time in the AGNP MSN session so I don't have much input on anything else. They did state that they had 500+ MSN applicants and are admitting 110-120 (this is the number of all specialties combined). The numbers vary based on available preceptors. They accept 20-30 in the AGNP (not sure about others). The woman said the goal for notification is always mid March but they are aiming for mid April (be prepared for May). They will send notification by mail first. They also said the wait list will be open until the first day of classes in case someone doesn't show up.
Healtheworld- they did mention starting with GPA, experience, then personal statement. She said they list the applicants in order and admit the top of the list. YIKES. Freaking out more. PS the drive was right under 2 hours. I was told the agnp (not sure if this applies to all specialties) will have class basically one day a week. One semester it will be Tuesday and the next it will be Wednesday and back and forth. I was strongly encouraged to work only weekend option if I had to work and was going full time. I was also encouraged to apply full time rather than part time because it really just drags clinical out a year. So I have emailed the appropriate people to switch my application.
That's all super helpful!! Thanks.
I applied to Pediatric track but I imagine all the specialties other than FNP will have around that same 30ish number of admits. Also good to know about the weekend option. I already applied full time and I would like to be able to work full time too so I'm glad they didn't completely object to that.

No regrets, guys! Just prayers for getting in! I would hope that if we truly feel the need to change directions once enrolled there will be some flexibility? does anyone know? I'm so anxious. I know I'll survive the wait but not a day goes by that I don't think about it! I have minimal nursing experience (just working on my first year in ICU as a new grad). I have TONS of veterinary experience including research. I have previous degrees in animal science and biology. My grades then were not exceptional but I'm currently enrolled in a BSN program at Appalachian and I have a 4.0 thus far. I applied adult gerontological MSN program. What about everyone else? Just very nervous about my experience and previous grades holding me back.
