Hey everyone,

I'm planning on applying to UNC Chapel Hill's ABSN next month in the hopes of getting accepted into the Summer 2022 cohort. Didn't see a thread for 2022 so I figured I'd start one. Good luck to everyone applying this year! Also, if you're currently in the program or have previously completed it, please feel free to add your experience, share your thoughts, etc. 

Any other wait list friends keep me posted!! I am waiting to hear back from one other program.

I haven’t heard anything yet from the waitlist (anxiously checking email everyday). Would other waitlisted students be willing to share their stats. My overall GPA is 3.51, all A’s in prerequisites except a B+ in Physiology lecture. I’m an X-ray tech, with over three years experience working at an urgent care, but not a ton of volunteer experience.

No, I havent heard anything! I am a super weird applicant though so we will see. Im 20 so I don't have much of a career behind me. Currently a behavior tech though and a lot of specialization in working with people with disabilities/volunteer experience. I also am intermediate in American Sign Language. I have worked in medical reception as well in college. Best of luck!! I know I will never be the most book smart kid in a class, but I am pretty good with big picture stuff which is how I am where I am... I did contact them and ask if they would tell me how big the waitlist pool is and they said they can’t release that information (in a very kind way), but that there should be a lot of mobility. I am also applying to Gardner Webb and really like their program too. Chapel Hill is much better financially for me, and I would LOVE to work at the Spina or CP clinic. I know we will all end up where we are supposed too though so I have peace with that despite the waitlist being dissapointing.

Nope I haven’t heard anything! & yeah I’ll share my stats! I have a 3.73 overall GPA & pre-req I have one B in stats. I have about 3,000 volunteer hours due to my sorority & I was also president for a term. I have also have about a year & a half clinical hours as a CNA. I also work for UNC health currently as a CNA. However, I am fresh out of undergrad so I also don’t have much a career behind me as well.

Hey yall! I'm a current UNC ABSN and thought I'd pop in to say that I got in off the waitlist like March 30th and there were quite a few others who got in late, as well. When I called to see what I could improve on my application, they said there wasn't really anything to improve- I think they generally just have a lot of good candidates. Good luck to everyone!

Thank you sm! Best of luck to everyone on the waitlist, it’s so stressful! & yes they did! They randomly emailed me today. It was from the director and it said “an exciting update has been applied to your application. Can’t wait to hear from you soon!” And then the acceptance letter attached. I hope everyone gets the email soon!!

Congratulations ?? I’m so happy to hear that you got off the waitlist!! Fingers crossed I’m still waiting, hopefully more of us get off ?
