Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.

I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.

Hey!

I am going into the traditional BSN program. I am guaranteed admission and unless Towson offers me more money I will see you all in the spring! I'm going to Shady Grove. Anyone else looking at shady? If so we should talk!

Hellojoe,

Hey! I am applying to Shady Grove campus so maybe I'll see you there. I just took my TEAS yesterday, sent the scores in and just need to mail in my references and transcript. So excited!

@gummycoco I assume your TEAS went well! I was thinking about you yesterday, I'm glad you're finally on the home stretch!

@hellojoe, that's awesome that you were guaranteed admission! :^D The campus is beautiful.

I hope to see you all!

@littlemango aw thanks! You're so sweet! I got a 88%...98 percentile? I'm not sure how good of a score this is but I spoke with my friend, who is a student at UMBSON, and she said it's good as long as you get a percentile over 90 in all the sections. It was a lot harder than I thought it would be...haha. At least its over! Good luck on yours :)

I really hope to see you all!

Congrats!! It is a good score. I got a 88.7% on mine, and I was accepted for the traditional program when I applied back in 2012.

Thank you bcandygurl! Hopefully I can make it with the score :)

You all have such wonderful scores! Unfortunately I retook my teas 27 days after my last attempt and cannot send in my updated and better score

Hey everyone! I was admitted to UMSON for this Fall (2014). If anyone has any questions, I would be more than willing to answer them!

Well, here I am, back again. My quick back story: I had gotten into UMSON for the Spring 2014 semster, but I botched my math requirement. I applied for Fall 2014 and was waitlisted. I just got an email last Friday, asking if I was interested in having them use my application for consideration for Spring 2015. So, I have thrown my hat into the ring once more.

Decisions are usually meted out in mid-November. Don't call them, they'll call you! And there is no set system or ranking for being selected if you get waitlisted. You just...wait. I'll go back to some of my old posts from the Fall 2014 UMSON topic, and share some of that information here.

Good luck to all!

@FutureNure22494 I'll surely ask for your advice (if I get in)!

@afowler77 so they definitely call you? Do you know what happens if you don't make it in? And what if you can't answer the phone? Do they leave a message? Also (and please, someone correct me if I'm wrong) I've heard before that even if you get a B on one of the prereqs you take the semester before attending, you get taken off of the program if you had originally been accepted. Is this true?

According to what I was told, if you get less than a B in any remaining prerequisites, your admissions will be withdrawn. They really drive this fear into you. In fact, I was taking an advanced level statistics class that I had to drop during my last semester and take an intro level one instead over the summer. However, a family member of mine knows admissions people over the entire University of Maryland Baltimore and he said that they usually call you into a meeting and discuss what went wrong and then they decide your fate there. So, I do not believe it is an automatic withdraw of admissions and I feel they are a tad flexible. Just DON'T fail lol.

Oh, so as long as one of your grades in that last semester of prereqs doesn't dip under a B, you'll be fine? I remember feeling the fear when I was told this, but from what I understood then was that if you got a B in one of the classes you'd be withdrawn. I'm definitely feeling better now that you've cleared this up, and I'm glad I heard wrong! However, still aiming for an A nonetheless! You gotta keep doing your best! Thanks FutureNurse22494!
