Hello everyone! I may be a little early with this, but here's a new post for all of you hoping to apply this September 2nd for the Spring 2015 semester at UMSON. You can post questions you have, helpful advice you would like to give (if you're already in the program), etc.
I specifically have a question for those who have already applied to the Spring 2014 semester and got in. When you applied last September, when in November did you get your acceptance letter in the mail? Was it the beginning, middle, or toward the end of November? I'm asking this because the other nursing school I am applying to only gives a 3-week time period after the end of October (when they let you know if you made it in or not) to accept or decline enrollment. So, if I don't make it into UMSON, I'd want to be able to give this other nursing school an answer before the 3-week time period runs out.
Thank you! I had a GPA of 3.58 and a science GPA of 3.26. Now, I did my prerequisites at the University of Maryland College Park which has a partnership with UMSON. This partnership gives you GUARANTEED admission to the nursing school as long as you have a 3.25 GPA and a 3.0 science GPA. So, as long as I had that, I was automatically in. We were not required to take the TEAS. However, I did take the TEAS because I applied to Towson nursing school too. I did not get into Towson's nursing school. I didn't do that well on the TEAS (I think I got a 79).
@FutureNurse22494 What were your stats (both regular and science GPA, TEAS, and did you have any experience prior to applying)? Congrats on getting in!
Right now I'm working on getting my application materials together. I have a 3.4 overall GPA, I think a 3.6 science GPA, as well as a 79.3 on the TEAS. I retook my TEAS and got a way better score the second time around, but I didn't wait for 60 days to pass until I took it again, can I still send in the second score anyways?
@afowler77 thanks for the information! Let's hope this goes well for me then.
Also, I'd like to ask if anyone who has taken the TEAS recently (gummycoco and jennyxyz) if there were any questions on physics involving the solving for heat or density. It's coming down to it... I'm taking it this Monday (eek) so I'm just curious so I can figure out what to focus on.

Oh noo lol. ALL you need is a B or better in your remaining classes and for your science GPA to continue to be a 3.0 or higher. So, basically you could get all B's in your remaining coursework and you would be FINE. Keep up the good work!
