Umson spring 2016 applicants

Published

Hello, all!

My name is Christina Smith! I know I started this thread a little soon, but I am sure others are just as anxious as I am about applying! I have submitted my application for the spring 2016 program :cat: I just want to post some background information about myself, and anyone who has been accepted to previous semesters can share some insight with me if the wish!

I have a 3.9 GPA. My science gpa is as follows:

A: A&P 1

A: A&P 2

B Micro (Which was taken in 5 weeks, do they view the length of the semester?!)

I have gotten As in all of my other courses, and just need algebra and chemistry (which I am taking together this fall.)

I have been a CNA for 2.5 years, and have worked as a med tech for 14 months, and have recently been employed by Carroll Hospital as a MED/SURG PCT.

I have not taken my TEAS, but have purchased a study guide and plan to STUDY STUDY STUDY!!

I was accepted into my community college's ADN program, but I want to step outside my comfort zone and head towards my dream school. I am so nervous!!!!!!!!!

Astran- I didn't apply for it! I haven't applied for anything, and im at a community college (AACC). I think i was offered it because of my grades

I applied for FAFSA of course, but the offer from UMBC was competely separate from that. Like I said, I think it's because of my grades.

I can't believe it's f****** Friday and we still haven't gotten status changes. Wth:mad:

Haha, seriously. I mean it would help us out a lot if they would just let all waitlist and all rejected people know first, so that at least rejected applicants aren't holding on to false hope. Being on the waitlist is a different story though, because those applicants still have a chance, but are not guranteed for that term as accepted applicants are. I don't understand how the decisions are released so randomly.

I have never been so frustrated with seeing the words "Committee Ready" in my life haha.

LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't

So do you live on campus (camps park) or just near shady or balitmore's campus? im not sure how it works im from out of state.

i also wanted to know if both campuses go to the same hospitals for clinicals?

kmichellex, I believe there is no on-campus housing for Shady Grove. So if I get admitted for the Spring I would commute from my house which is like 15-20min away from the school. BUt they do have apartments around that area from what I understand... I think they might be able to assist with housing? Might have to contact Universities at Shady Grove for that. But I'm not sure what the housing details are for Baltimore. I would assume they have some sort of housing plan around the area but that's just a wild guess.

I have a feeling that I won't be hearing anything today =/

does anyone know how this works? Have they given out any rejections yet or are they saving them for the end?

I am losing more hope as each day passes.

On a more positive note...happy Friday everyone!

Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think we will hear anything today even though they told us end of this week. Happy Friday! I'll be spending today and the weekend stress cooking and eating :cheeky:. Hopefully decisions come by next week if nothing today. If not next week, some of us will probably be looking at December for decisions:no:.

I wonder is they are saving their rejections for like the last day or minute or something. Anyone got waitlisted or rejected?

Just called admissions and they said they are literally updating a new batch of acceptances as we speak! Good luck everyone!!!

Thanks for the update winnieguinnie! Hopefully we hear some good news from everyone waiting :)

Thanks for the update! Good luck everyone! :)

Hopefully some of us on here are in that batch!
