UMSON Fall 2015

Published

REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).

This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!

I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:

AP1. -- B

AP2. -- A

CHEM -- B

MICRO -- A

I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)

Oh okay. At least you have a backup school! Do you know if we receive a letter in the mail? Cause i read some where that we do, yet I have not received it.

I got my letter in the mail super late. Like 2.5 weeks after i saw my status online. That's why i check SURFS much more often than my snail mail. Once i see "acceptance" online then I'll check the mail for the physical letter. I'm sure yours will be in the mail soon

Does anyone know how long you have to remain on the Waitlist? I was Waitlisted originally for the Fall 2014 and then again Fall 2015. Since I have been working in applications for other schools as well as again to apply for Spring 2016 for UMSON. Considering I was Waitlisted can I send in transcripts etc?

That is a question for the admissions office. I think there is a limit on how many times you can be Wait Listed but am not at all sure how that works.

Thanks Grey Lady. I will give them a call.

For the certified profile, and the immunizations in general, it says that they are due by orientation. Is that the first part of orientation SSIP or the one in September?

In case anyone had a similar question regarding the amount of time your application can be "wait listed" I spoke with the nursing director for the BSN program, (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME), and your original application cannot exceed 1 year. In my case, I was Waitlisted for the Spring of 2015 (original application applied for the Fall of 2014) and again this Fall 2015, so if I am not offered a seat this Fall, I must reapply for the Spring of 2016. If this is your situation as well the deadline for the Spring is September 2.

Moving forward, I have began the process of applying and submitting applications to other schools. I will be volunteering to gain healthcare experience since I have completed my prereqs to better my résumé as well as renewing my CPR card. Again, congrats to all who will be starting nursing school!! :)

Hi MiMi3,

Which campus did you apply for? I was thinking of retaking my TEAS test, do you think that might help?

I applied to the ShadyGrove campus. I retook my TEAS test and it didn't help me so I'm not sure. I also read some people had 90 TEAS scores and were not admitted so I am assuming the application is equally weighted.

Guys I need help. I took English 121 at AACC. I need to take another English class. Which class would satisfy the second English requirement?
