REMINDER!!! The deadline to submit your Fall application is nearing. As of now, the deadline has not changed from February 2 (short of 4 weeks away).
This is my second time applying--I was wait listed for the Spring term. Currently, I am studying to take my TEAS exam again on January 27th. This exam was the only portion of my application I was not confident in. I scored a 70% without refreshing my memory on key concepts by studying before hand. I did find the test to be a "you either no it or you don't" kind of thing so from personal experience--STUDY!
I have no outstanding prerequisites and my sciences are as follows:
AP1. -- B
AP2. -- A
CHEM -- B
MICRO -- A
I had the privilege of chatting with the last group of students and found this forum to be quite helpful! Please use this post as a way of communicating, sharing experiences, and giving advice. Hopefully, we will be classmates in the Fall!:)
Anyone going to the information session Saturday?
I believe I will be going!
Also, my status (traditional BSN) is still at Complete Ready for Review.
Any other BSN applicants still at this status? I called someone else in admissions regarding my situation and was told if I didn't receive an email saying my application was cancelled , then I'm good. I didn't get any notice like this and I know they have all my stuff (albeit late...but they have it) so prayerfully that's the end of that! :)
I applied to the trad BSN, and I haven't had my status updated to "Committee Ready" either! Still at "Complete and Ready to review." All my required documents arrived by the fall deadline. Glad to hear that a couple of others are in the same place. (I was getting a little worried since last year more people reported being committee ready by this time).
As for the information session, I went to the School of Nursing open house in Baltimore this past November 1st. If you haven't been yet, it was cool to see the labs and facilities, but I think the information might be targeted towards spring applicants who haven't sent in their applications yet, right?

I was there as well and based on the way the Nov. Session went it makes sense that the target audience may be geared toward the next cohort. Couldn't hurt to go if any of you haven't had the opportunity as yet. Very informative. I really appreciated the student perspectives.
@secquoria - actually, you're right...I think I was mis-remembering. I went to both the Universities at Shady Grove open house and the UMSON specific open house in Baltimore...the Shady Grove info session was the more application process oriented session, which made it more application timeline specific. On the other hand, the Baltimore open house had the student panel and talked more about the program generally. There was also a booth with housing info. So yeah, would probably be good for any prospective student regardless of timeline. Would recommend for those who haven't gone. There was also free breakfast too :).
Oh ok. I thought I was the only one too haha. My letters had to be resent and that wasn't till the end of February so I expected mine to still say Complete Ready for Review. But you all had yours in earlier so I assume they're still working thru the pile. I will feel better once it says Committee Ready since I had a scare about my application possibly not being read but since I didn't get a cancellation notice I'm good. I don't think they would put me at Complete Ready for Review then cancel it.
I have to make a choice on Towson by April 13 and Salisbury May 1st...so I'm praying UMSON makes decisions no later than mid-April and then give scholarship/fin aid information as soon as possible cuz I have to figure expenses out. It's more than I thought with fees, living, transport, etc. Salisbury gave me a couple loans which should be enough for the year but I'm not sure.
