Who is applying?

Hi everyone,

For me, my status has been updated to Admit-Institution. I have not received a phone call at all today, nor have I received an email. Any opinions? I am an out-of-state student. I sent in my deposit for UMinne earlier today, then found out about Maryland...I'm not sure what to do, but I would love to attend UMD. I'm a little doubtful that I've actually been accepted. Until I get the call, I guess...

Another day of status changing has passed and my status STILL hasn't changed! I have no choice but to mail my acceptance letter to Towson early tomorrow morning. I was hoping that I would at least have an answer before that, but apparently not! I was soooo stressed out waiting anxiously for an answer before the deadline of the Towson acceptance but now, F it! I'm not gonna bother to check my status until my spring break is over.

girlonfire - you have been admitted and will recieve your phone call. Sometimes for whatever reason a status is changed without the accompanying phone call (or you missed it) ou can follow the "accepted students" portion of the UMSON website.

PinkEagle- I hope, if you get accepted to UMD, you can withdraw your Towson deposit and attend UMD! Goodluck!

I've decided I'm going to do one last status check at 4:30pm tomorrow. The post office closes at 5pm so as long as the acceptance letter is postmarked tomorrow's date, I should be fine.....we'll see!

Pinkeagle - maybe you could call and request the info. Just tell them you want to know before you mail a deposit for another school. They may be willing to let you know, and if not the worst that can happen is a no!

@pink are you absolutely positive about the postmarked thing? I was under the impression TU had to have your deposit IN HAND by today to hold your seat. Might wanna double check. Also I definitely recommend calling and letting UMB know the position you're in with Towson.

Also, Katie, sad as I am to say it, I think you're right and it probably is a rejection call. I think the only way it would have changed was if you'd been waitlisted, not rejected. We'll see you spring 15, right??

Some questions for those who have deadlines. Suppose you hand deliver or overnight mail something, making sure to get a receipt and proof of delivery? I would follow up with an email to the admissions office at Towson or wherever your deposit is due. That might buy you a few more days. Also, at any school I'm assuming there's an option to pay online.

There is no option to pay the deposit online at Towson. The deposit that was due yesterday at Towson was due to the nursing program. There is a separate deposit due to the university at the end of the month. I sent mine in, but for some reason I am still obsessively checking my status at Maryland, since it still says "Committee Ready." Towson is a much better choice for me, but Maryland was number one on my list for a long time; it's hard not to still think of the hypotheticals. PinkEagle, I know $200 is a lot of money, but in the big picture of how much you will pay to get through school, would it be worth it to pay the deposit to ensure your spot, and forfeit it if you decide to attend Maryland?

My letter definitely said it was due the 16th-today.
