UMSON fall 2016 hopefuls ?

Hello all, I am planning to apply to UMSON in the fall 2016. I haven't seen a thread yet for other hopefuls and potential candidates. So I wanted to start one.

okay so I just got provisional admit for the baltimore campus! but I am so worried because I don't know if I'll still get accepted since I got a C in my social science pre req over the winter. Does anyone know if they'll still take me if I take it again in the summer and get a B???

Congrats jabontZ09! Did you just check your status or get your acceptance letter? And I think the provisional admit status pertains to the pre-reqs/classes you are currently taking... not the ones you have taken already. Are you taking pre reqs for the program right now? As long as you get a B or above on what you're taking now you should be fine :)

I haven't even heard back for an interview and its almost half way into may... im so frustrated. like how is such a big well known school so disorganized? thoroughly upset and disappointed. ridiculous how i turned in my app jan 31, and now 3.5 months later i havent heard anything.

Congrats!! Were you accepted BSN or CNL?

Yes you are right they will likely start another batch of interviews for CNL applicants. I spoke with Ms. Jackson today (I've been calling her weekly for updates) and she mentioned they will likely be doing interviews until June...due to the interviews they've done and the upcoming graduation...URGH! the waiting has been unbearable! But it seems as though we'll wait a little longer...

@kayrock thanks! and I applied as a BSN applicant. I did get my letter as well for my provisional admit status and it also said that I had to get a B in my social science elective since at the time of my application I didn't have it yet. But I took classes after my application, got a C but then still got the provisional letter. Does that just mean I have to retake it again and get a B or?

I had my interview last week and they said that I will hear back in 2-3 weeks. They were also kind enough to ask if I was waiting to deposit on another school and what date, so that they could get back to me before that date! Still patiently waiting though. I have a feeling once they get back to me (if i get in) I will only have a couple of days to choose and put down my deposit, without having my financial aid package ready :(

Are you waiting on your interview?? I am sure you will hear soon because the last date for interviews on the email I got was May 10th! So they are probably going to do the next batch of interviews now!

I was told financial aid deadlines are different for applicants like us because we don't know where were going until much later than typical students. So you should be fine.

omg june?!! thats soooo long. ive never heard of that long of a wait.

Congrats on getting in! I'm also a provisional admit I was wondering if in your letter it tells you when to send the deposit and everything? Like do we make a log in or anything or do we wait until we get our final grades and then send the deposit and register for orientation and stuff

Whatever was on your transcript when you applied is what they based their decision off of. When someone gets a provisional admission, they have to send their final transcript in before the fall starts to verify they got the grade that was required. I would call them.
