UMSON BSN FALL 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey Guys,

Just wondering if there are any students that applied to University of Maryland School of Nursing for the BSN program for Fall 2020. I see a thread for Spring 2020, but not one for Fall as of yet. If so, do you mind posting your grades/TEAS scores. Mine are listed below.

3.85 overall GPA

3.9 science GPA

TEAS: still waiting on my results (took it today)

Hope to hear from you all. Thanks,

Jay

It's the only school I'm applying to as well (Baltimore campus). I'm currently taking my last three prerequisites (A&P II, Chem, Human Growth & Development). 3.5 science GPA in A&P I and Microbio. Probably around a 3.7 for prerequisites as a whole.

I'm an adult learner eleven years out of undergrad (3.06 GPA - I never anticipated going back to school so didn't prioritize as much as I should have ?).

92% on my TEAS but I will probably retake it if I don't get accepted once I finish A&P II as there were a few questions I guessed at that are going to be covered this semester (got an 85% on the Science part)

I'm hoping an adult male with two wildly different former careers will boost my chances and make up for my sub-par undergrad GPA. ?

Thanks for posting Sensher! Excellent teas score and science pre-reqs gpa btw! I’m sure you’ll get in with those stats. Keeping my fingers crossed too ? . I was hoping for a 90.7 or better on the teas but only got an 84%. Hoping that suffices. We shall see mid-March to April.

Hi everybody,

I finished applying a few days ago. My GPA is 3.32 and my science GPA is 3.52. TEAS = 96%, National PR=99%. The thing is I have no experience in healthcare and have been working as a dog walker for the past six years. Also, I failed AP1 when I took it in 2009. (I got an A when I took it years later. I was going through a hard time in 2009 and completely stopped going to class.)

I was wondering: Is anyone else applying without any experience related to nursing? Do good TEAS scores matter much?

It's going to be tough waiting to hear until mid-march/April.

Good luck to everyone!!

Hey anne89,

Your stats are great! I’m also a student applying with no professional nursing experience. Which campus did you apply to?

Thanks ID092194! I only applied to Baltimore, but am wishing I had applied to both

Hey did anybody else get the email confirming the school they wish to attend?

Also my stats are: 4.0 science GPA, 4.0 overall, Phi Theta Khi member, and 86 on TEAS

Also, who did everyone get to write their letter of recommendation?

I had my professor who taught my microbiology course. He also happens to teach at UMD as well.
Also, I did receive the email asking to confirm which location.

Oh ok, and same! My professor who taught A&p wrote mine and he does research at UMD school of Med. he’s the one gave me courage to even apply. I wasn’t going to at first.

I got the email as well. Seems like they are ahead of schedule compared to last year (they didn't send out location confirmations until mid-march), so hopefully we get decisions sooner!

My stats are: 3.75 science, 3.85 Pre-req, 3.4 overall GPA (including previous bachelors). My teas score was a 90.7.

My letter of recommendation came from my A&P professor.

Specializes in N/A.

Did they send everyone those emails at the same time?

Im so nervous ugh, and yes. We all got them today i think.

Is this your 2nd time applying? Since you mention last yr?
