Hey Guys,
Just wondering if there are any students that applied to University of Maryland School of Nursing for the BSN program for Fall 2020. I see a thread for Spring 2020, but not one for Fall as of yet. If so, do you mind posting your grades/TEAS scores. Mine are listed below.
3.85 overall GPA
3.9 science GPA
TEAS: still waiting on my results (took it today)
Hope to hear from you all. Thanks,
Jay

Congratulations on your acceptance! That's awesome news! I did get notified that I was a Conway Scholar recipient - super excited!
Hey JDtoRN,
I did not get an email like that. I don't know what Group I'm in, but I did finish registration for classes today.
Hey there! CONGRATS on your acceptance! I was just admitted to UMSON CNL program for Spring 2021. How soon after you received your offer did you find out that you are a Conway scholar recipient?

For example, I had a weak overall GPA (it was about 2.8 or 2.9) but my science was good (around 3.75-3.8). I was told by admissions that my overall GPA was not competitive. They suggested that I score high on TEAS to help me. So I studied very hard and got 99th percentile for TEAS. Additionally, I have years of relevant experience which also worked in my favor.
TBH, I think improving your science GPA would ultimately be to your advantage just cause nursing school is science heavy and builds on all the sciences on a more critical thinking level especially A&P.
Best Wishes.
Hi there! I have so many questions regarding UMSON CNL program. Did you work during your first year? During my interview, a faculty member said students after their first year can challenge the CNA exam and work as a CNA part-time. Do you know anyone who has done this? Also, did you apply for and receive the CNL scholars scholarship, if so, do you know what specifically the committee is looking for. How has the program been since it has converted to virtual due to COVID?
I have less than 2 weeks to make a pay my deposit and I am nervous about making the right decision financially. There are so many entry points into nursing what made you choose UMSON?
So sorry for all of the questions! I feel like I am going insane trying to make a decision!
