Hi,
Have anyone been given an acceptance letter for the Fall 2009 Accelerated BSN program? Are letters of acceptance coming out or does someone wait and they all come together?
Would somone let me know if they were accepted yet and if they have received a orientation date?
Thanks!
For those of you questioning GPA, don't give up! I had a 2.5 my freshman year and graduated with a 3.19. I redid all my prereqs from undergrad for both expiring/grade reasons so I ended up with an A in Micro, B+ in A&P I, and B in A&P II. I'm not sure which chem they took, but my lowest chem is a B and a few have A's. My grad school GPA that they saw is a 3.4 (yay its a 3.56 now!) and I GOT IN! (for Spring 2010)
If nursing is your dream, don't give up. I think it helps that I had other science courses after first taking my prereqs that showed huge improvements, but I would recommend taking a few science courses before diving into A&P and Micro. They are intense programs and the second time around with a biochem and exercise physiology (my first degree--and I love that too!) background made things flow so much easier. No matter what though, don't give up, keep chugging along!
Good luck everyone!
Despite getting all As in all my pre reqs Micro, Gen Chem, A&P I&II, Soc. & Psych but a 2.9 GPA & I got a rejection letter a few days ago . Though I'm not surprise because the recruiter told me not to apply if I have less than a 3.0 because they won't even review my app. However, I have applied to two other schools & have gotten accepted to both.
Hi I submitted my application in the end of June for the Fall 2010 and it is now the end of July and I haven't received an acceptance letter. Does that mean I did not get in. My undergrad GPA was very good. I only received one C for my prerequisites. How fast did everyone receive their acceptance letters.

You and me both apparently applied the same time. I haven't heard a word yet either. I didn't get a rejection letter either. However, I checked the website yesterday and saw they posted a notice that they aren't accepting applications anymore because the class is full. The applications they currently have are being reviewed for Spring 2011. I checked around and apparently some people were getting their acceptance for Fall 2010 since early June.
@Moneja783: If your first degree's GPA was less than a 3.0 and still applied they send out automatic rejection letters.
I called admissions two days ago, the guy who answered told me that they are not accepting new applications for the fall 2010, because they already have alot of applications and the ones that they have reviewed are either accepted into the program. He told me that most letters will be going out after the August 1st date. I hope we both get in.
So we may still be considered for the Fall 2010.
Hi everyone,
Sorry for the delay on responding. I'm halfway through the program now... just finished finals! Be ready for a ride :-).
Most of my classmates got their acceptance letters the week of orientation. I don't know when you guys would have orientation but I'm assuming its in the next 2 weeks. So if you haven't gotten a letter, its not surprising. They are very last minute and unorganized :-)... but so is the field of nursing.
I got my acceptance letter right after my application was submitted, but I had also applied for the previous semester so they had already reviewed everything... but then a class expired so they couldn't accept me until my midterm report.
Good luck everyone! I know how much it sucks waiting, but its worth it for your dream!
Thanks airj. I'm still in the waiting game. Not sure if the letter will be good or bad news at this point.
Can you share how intense it is so far? I had a former classmate of mine get in for Spring 2010 and lost her number to ask her how she's doing. So are you all on break now? When do you start back?

Hey MONEJA-
If your overall GPA is a 2.98 you may encounter some problems. I graduated with a 3.65 when I was accepted. I just began this fall and everyone is really smart. Whatever you do... don't give up. Just apply and see what happens. I think that the 4.0 in all of your pre reqs will outweigh the overall. Good Luck!
