Hi,
Have anyone been given an acceptance letter for the Fall 2009 accelerated bsn program? Are letters of acceptance coming out or does someone wait and they all come together?
Would somone let me know if they were accepted yet and if they have received a orientation date?
Thanks!

Hi oldfashionedlove!
I actually applied for the summer and got in SO under the wire that I had to defer until the fall. So we'll be there together!! I drove in to give my deposit last week, and the neighborhood is a little "unsavory" (granted I'm from Monmouth County), but I met the asst. Dean on my first day to get the paperwork signed. I overheard a convo that from the summer they had 26 deposits and about 15 floating acceptances... so these classes are going to be much smaller than I thought. I guess everybody does everything together??? If that's the case, I guess we're gonna be getting pretty close. I think it's a tough schedule... like 8-5 every day or along those lines.
Hoping taking mass transit in from the east side of Newark is better than driving through the west side. Yeesh. Talk to you soon!!!
No, I did not apply this summer. I did get in in 2005, left due to an injury, reapplied and did not get in. I am taking some classes at raritan valley that I will eventually need. This way I can eliminate some classes when I decide where to apply. I live about 20 minutes from Newark. I guess you are moving into the area. Here is my e-mail address [email protected]. I will provide you with my phone number and I can give you ideas about the areas around here

Hello! The applications for fall 2009 arent due until Aug 15th. SOOOOO.... You probably wont hear anything until late July early August. I applied for the Summer but they pushed my Application back because I was taking too many pre-reqs during the Spring Semester (which I just finished). So hopefully I will be seeing both of you in September!

roxychic0910, you said they pushed your application back because you were taking too many pre-reqs when you applied. How many were you taking? I'm going to apply for Fall 2009 but I have yet to finish AP2, stats, and chem this Summer. I'm worried it might be too many. I went to their info session n they confirmed that applying while taking atleast 2 pre-reqs was ok and could still get accepted with the condition that you pass those remaining classes with a certain grade.
nurse4shore, the woman in charge of recruitement said during the information session that less ppl apply for the ASBN which starts during the summer than the ASBN which starts on the other seasons (Fall, Winter/Spring). resulting in less applicants and smaller classes for the Summer. it also means ppl r more likely to get accepted if they apply for the program starting on the Summer. she also said that the ppl in ur class r gonna be ur BFFs haha. u'll b stuck with em for 15 months, 5 days a week, 12 hrs a day studying cramming and griping :imbar so u pretty much got it when u said everyones gonna b doing everything together.
I for one am super jealous, I havent applied yet but i wanna get in soooo bad. Other options r practically 10x harder or involve more prereqs, more money, and more waiting waiting waiting for months...who wants to wait a year to start their nursing school??? i mean seriously? i really hope i can get in too!

Hey guys i still have a year or two of school remaining before i apply but i was wondering what your GPAs were? I'm trying to keep my GPA as high as possible even though i know im not pursuing the major anymore.
I still needed to take A&P I and II, and Stats. Also, I did graduate until last week and they wanted my dipolma earlier I think.
bernbabybern, I have a 3.1 GPA. Originally, I wanted to go to Vet school and thats why I took Bio as my major but you need at least a 3.5 to get into Vet School and unfortunately I did not make that cut. So, now I'm doing Nursing. Which was always my back up plan anyway.

Admittance is on a rolling basis, not necessarily reviewed in groups.
You should apply early since there are only so many spots in each class. When the seats are full, you are considered for the next semester start date.
In order to be competitive, maintain a 3.0 GPA or above. If you get A's or B's in your prerequisite sciences, it will increase your chances. Try and take some of your prerequisites now before you graduate.
Hi! I am going to give you a few tips about applying to their ABSN Program. You shouldn't apply until you have two prereq's left because your application will just sit until you finish them. Having prereq's in progress while applying DELAYS your acceptance until after mid-term when you have to provide an instructor's letter with your grade status-then, you can be accepted conditionally.
