Hi everyone, Sorry for the delay on responding. I'm halfway through the program now... just finished finals! Be ready for a ride :-). Most of my classmates got their acceptance letters the week of orientation. I don't know when you guys would have orientation but I'm assuming its in the next 2 weeks. So if you haven't gotten a letter, its not surprising. They are very last minute and unorganized :-)... but so is the field of nursing. I got my acceptance letter right after my application was submitted, but I had also applied for the previous semester so they had already reviewed everything... but then a class expired so they couldn't accept me until my midterm report. Good luck everyone! I know how much it sucks waiting, but its worth it for your dream!

I wish I had a better answer for you. But unfortunately UMDNJ states very clearly that without a 3.0 in your undergrad you will not be considered. I know many people who got rejected for this fact unfortunately. But don't give up! You can make it.. I had a poor freshman year GPA and worked hard to get it up by the end... and I finally made it to my dream :-). Good luck!

Hi new friends! Here's what I've gotten and what I've heard.... So our orientation is from 8-5:15 on the 14 & 15. We need ot get our school IDs and parking passes beforehand. (You should be getting this letter shortly... right after you send in your deposit). Here is the info on the PDA... from what this says and from what my friends in med school at the UMDNJ med schools have said is UMDNJ is basically going to the ipod touch as their preferred form of PDA so I just got one of those. http://sn.umdnj.edu/pda/index.htm At orientation they'll reigster us and we'll also pick our clinical sites which can be within an hour of newark... which excites me that hopefully I can get some down in the New Brunswick area as I live down here! You are also going to get 2 books with homework assignments that are suggested to be completed before Jan. 4th the books are... Clinical calculations made easy;Solving problems using idmensional analysis (4th) Craig, G.P. and Medical Terminology a programmed learning appraoch to the language of health care (2nd) Wills, M.C. We will also get measured and order our uniforms at orientation so bring a check or credit card. You'll get a letter to activate your e-mail account as well which is really easy. And then you'll get letters from Financial Aid as well to do all of that stuff. Orientation is only a few weeks away! FYI ipod touches are on sale today... and they are a "suggested" form of PDA for us :-) Where do you guys live? Are you going to be commuting?

congrats! another girl and I found out almost 3 weeks ago via mail... aaaaaaaand we haven't received our packages yet... the deadline isn't even until Dec. 1 soo :-) I'm sure you should be ok! Congrats though look forward to meeting you!

Rutgers A&P is rough... I took it last summer.. and am finishing up Micro at Middlesex right now... its a lot of work to figure out what works for you... but I just kept trying different things and now have a long complicated process down, but it works. Good luck! My roommate went ot Drexel and loved it... UMDNJ was my top choice and luckily I got it :-).... but everyone is different. Good luck and if you have any questions about prereqs and stuff let me know... I'll let you know how UMDNJ is!

That is a loaded question. Thanks for the congrats! I've been basically preparing for 5.5 years... I have a bachelors in Exercise Science that contains some of my prereqs and I am almost finished with a Masters in Nutrition. I redid A&P I and II and Micro for grade/expiring reasons over the last summer and this fall. It took me a while to learn how to study and figure out how I learn, but since then my GPA has sky rocketed up. What all do you have left to take? What is your bachelors in? I don't really know what got me accepted, but spend a lot of time on your personal statement. Make sure you have a resume that shows you are hard worker. And choose your recommendations wisely. They wouldn't say it straight out, but they like a "variety" of reco letters. Let me know if I can help anymore!
