UMD CNL FALL 2018

Published

Hi guys! I know it's a little early... but just wanted to start a thread for those who are applying to the UMD CNL program for fall of 2018. I just submitted my application!

Mine is on March 5th. I will using this weekend to have mock interviews with friends to prepare. The CNL question I am still stuck on. My personal reason for CNL was because it was a masters program and I did not want to go for another bachelors although I will if needed.

Other than that, I understand CNL role is more evidence based method and care along with preparing for a leadership role as a Nurse ie Charge nurse and of course the ability to take the CNL licensure

@ltaylor - yes! We should contact admissions. I would love to not be obsessively checking the surfs website.. I just want to know when we'll know! haha

Hey - so I just called admissions and spoke to a very nice women who informed me that due to the high number of applicants this round you can expect a decision 2-5 weeks after you interview... AHH

So nerve racking ugh... I wonder how many they are expecting to accept since there is a large pool of applicants

Hmm, so it sounds as if those of us who did our interviews Valentine's week probably won't hear anything today. At my interview, the interviewer asked me if I was Ok hearing on March 1, or if I needed a decision earlier because of other pending admissions, acceptances, etc. I told her that March 1 was fine. Now I wish I had said I needed it earlier!

SNP22, I wonder what she meant by "this round," however. Do you know? My application was complete on November 5, so I would probably consider myself as in the first round. I know some people are now in the process of being interviewed, so it definitely sounds like they are doing this in waves.

March 1 is today tho. So you should hear today if not next week correct?

Hi Juliet -

Sorry "this round" were my words - she meant this semester. As in there are more applicants for Fall 2018 than Fall 2017. Hopefully we'll hear soon. My interviewer made it sound like we would hear sooner rather than later.. but who knows

Hi everyone,

I just had my interview today March 1st. My interviewer told me I would hear back in 2-4 weeks.

Good luck everyone!!!!

Yes the process is definitely in waves since it's rolling admissions! My application was complete by November 10th, so I'd assume those of us who had our interview 2 weeks ago, should all hear back around the same time...hopefully sooner rather than later!!

And Juliet, I actually did say I need my decision expedited to meet a certain deadline (due to pending deadlines and scholarships from other schools) but that deadline has passed... (I was able to rearrange some stuff and I told them that deadline was no longer an issue)...so it does seem like they may just have an overload of applicants and they're running behind.

Oh man, I really hope I can get an interview. I just started pursuing the nursing track and found this program only a few weeks ago. App is sent in, but since there's high volume of applicants, I wonder what my chances are :\

Would anyone happen to know if you get rejected, does any of your app materials roll over when you reapply?

Hey doulos1 everything rolls over to your next application but it can only roll over once. You'll have to redo the writing assignment and the interview again though.
