After following the Fall '09 thread with great interest, I thought it might be time to start a new thread for the Spring '10 applicants since we're inching closer to the Sep 1 deadline. I have a technical question for those who have applied before. I submitted my CNL application online this morning and paid the $50 and now it seems like my application has slipped into a vortex that I don't have access to. When I log onto SURFS to check my status, the only option that it gives me is to submit a new application. Is there somewhere else on the website that I should be looking to confirm that my application has been submitted and is pending review or awaiting additional information (transcripts, recommendations, etc)? Perhaps there is a delay between when the application is submitted and when the status is visible?
Best of luck to all the other applicants...now the agonizing waiting game begins! Looking forward to giving each other support and encouragement on this thread.
Dear University of Maryland School of Nursing,
Hi! Hope you are doing well. Listen, I have an issue I wanted to talk to you about. I know you said my application was due September 1st and that you would let me know by November 1st. I understand, things get crazy, the economy crashes, more people then expected apply, and computers are sometimes unreliable. But honestly, this is getting a tad extreme, I mean one letter to say thanks for my application and then one later to say your running late?? I must say, I expected more out of this relationship.
Unfortunately, I really like you, so I am going to stick around. I must really want to get my nursing education from you. You should appreciate my fortitude and resilience with this relationship.
So here is what I am thinking; you give me an answer about my application. At this point, I just want to know. Is that really so much to ask? You give me an answer, and if its yes, I wont let you down. Ill get my CPR certification, I will study my butt off till late in the morning, heck, ill even give up my social life, I am willing to compromise, you just have to give me an answer.
Okay. Oh! One other thing, my friends here at allnurses, they have been waiting too, I seriously think that you should let us in. We won't let you down. We promise.
With Hopes of an Acceptance Letter (or change of status on the SURFS website),

Sigh....if only I could really send this...
"wanna'be" bsn admittee/second degree/shady grove applicant here - eml2412 - THANK YOU! :thankya: as my interest in my local community college grows with each repeated UNRESPONSIVE status check, your letter made my night - even if it is only for your own cathartic expression placed benignly this sight.
I have been sitting on the sideline - partly because i didn't want to add any more stress to the thread:sofahider...thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts. wishing us all great patience...namaste:zzzzz
Ever have one of those dreams where you wake up from such a realistic dream that your heart is still racing? And you thank whoever is up there that it was only a dream? As soon as I opened my eyes I'm posting this. I just had the most vivid dream that I heard back from them... and I was WAITLISTED!!!! :hdvwl: It was a nightmare... :lol_hitti and now I question my sanity.
Good luck to all~
