I am currently a student at CCBC and am interested in applying also to UMB's nursing program. I am confused on the chemistry requirements though. Is just a general NON-organic chemistry required to apply?? Or is there a requirement for a general non-organic chemistry and also an organic chemistry??

Just general Chem with lab (no orgo needed).
Ok thanks. It just gets rather confusing with almost every university ive looked at having different chemistry requirements.

I'll back up Student4_life's comment. general chem w/ lab is the lowest chem class that you can have. If you have higher chem classes that is fine too!
I've noticed that Towson and Stevenson require an organic chemistry. If i took an organic chemistry would i be able to use this chemistry as my prerequisite chemistry for UMB?? im just curious

jwrein12 - I am pretty sure that you would need the lower level chemistry before you took the intro to bio/orgo chem at ccbc anyway. If this is not the case, I don't belive the Intro to biochem/orgo Chem fulfills UMB's required prerequisite. I would definitely call UMB's admission specialist to confirm this (be ready with the course description from CCBC)...or talk to the nursing school admissions specialist at CCBC and see if he/she knows.
Here is my opinion: It would not hurt to take both the regular chem AND the organic chemistry as long as you are confident you can get a good teacher and do well in both. Taking the organic chemistry will open up your options for which schools you could potentially attend.
