UMass Worcester GEP Fall 2019

Hi everyone! I didn't see a UMass Worcester GEP Fall 2019 thread so I thought I would start one. I submitted my application in September. The last I heard was they were going to start to review the applications they have in hand at the end of September and would at some point start extending interviews. In a past info session, they said they have a rolling admissions process. I haven't heard anything more since then, so I'm just sitting tight.

I just got a call, I'm in for FNP!!

Submitted my application late august. Interviewed Nov 1 and just got the call yesterday, I'm in for adult-gero acute care NP, as well! Anyone interested in creating a facebook group?

to all who have been accepted, did you get any prior emails regarding if your application has been complete, instructions for an interview, etc?

Sophie.xo: I didn't receive an email confirming my application was complete, so I called and confirmed by phone a week or so after submitting it, just for my own peace of mind. (I later also noticed my check was cashed, which was the other confirmation they had received the mail-in portion.) As for an interview, I received a phone call first notifying me that I was selected for an interview and was offered some dates/times to choose from. A few days ahead of my interview, I received an email confirmation with instructions. As for learning I was accepted, I received a call first, followed by the acceptance package in the mail. I hope that helps!

Hi all - I just got an interview for Adult gero/primary care. They let me know that they look at apps in the order they are receieved, send them for review, adn then pick people for interviews. Every 2 weeks the committee meets and they accept, waitlist, or reject applicants. This is so refreshing. Every other program I applied to interviews around now and tells us in February, ugh!

Do any of you know whether or not UMASS finds your clinicals for you or if you have to do it on your own? I assume they have the relationships established. I was on the phone with them for so long today I should have asked!

Congrats, FutureNCM8! For the adult-gero acute care track, UMass finds all your clinicals for you - both RN and NP. (I would assume it is for all the tracks, but don't want to speak out of turn.)

Thank you! I am okay with an assumption for now. I'll clarify during the interview for sure though.
