Has anyone taken this course???? And if so how is it? I start in September and am trying to get a heads up about the program. Thanks for all replies!

I'm also interested in the responses as I'm looking at this program (hoping to start it next year, I just started working and want to get settled in at my job first). I'd like to hear about how much time per week you spend doing class work and if it's easy to balance with a full time job.

Hey Gerry - I start this program in September also. I heard there is a huge group of students for the fall semester because the Brigham is pushing a lot of their ADNs through the program.

Have you signed up for an orientation day yet?

Yes I signed up for 21 August. I picked that day because I am also taking the nutrition test that day. I took the pharmacology test a couple of days ago and think I did pretty well on it. I dont want to shell out another thousand bucks for those classes. The Brigham may be trying for magnet status like their partner Mass General. I believe they wont hire ADN nurses (new grad or experienced nurses). The BI (where I work) is also trying to go BSN only from what I hear. Whats up with that??????

I seem to be following your footsteps almost exactly, LOL! ;-) I just passed the Quincy College admissions test (taking CHM and BIO this summer) and plan to start the QC pm ADN in Jan 2009, but am already plotting ways to get my BSN, and the UMass program was at the top of my list of possibilities... I'll be watching for your posts to see how it goes for you--think of yourself as the canary going down the coal mine, VBG!! ;-)

A question--everyone posting here seems to be starting in the fall--does anyone know if they have a spring start as well? Thanks!!

Glad to hear the phram test went well. Keep up posted. I too am interested in the UMass program. I'll be done with my RN shortly and plan on going to UMB for my BSN/MSN. Thanks for the info.

I signed up for the August 23rd session....

Dtrmnd2sccd - I think they have an ongoing enrollment option where you can start either fall or spring. Also - you don't need to pass NCLEX to take the 1st nursing course so you can start after graduation but before you pass the boards - or if you fail the boards you can still proceed with the first online course...just need to get your license before you transition into the next course.

I also start in september........and have your same fears......My friend who started the Rn to BSN online program this summer likes it...she says the only thing that is crazy but not hard is writing tons of papers.

I will be attending the Aug 28th orientation.....and have not got the bill yet...but we will.
