Hello,

I am a 25 year old female with a bachelor's in Finance. For the past two years I have been working as a Medical Assistant, and have been working on completing my nursing pre-requisites. I finished them at Bunker Hill with a 3.7 gpa. My undergraduate gpa is 3.1. Yesterday I sent in my application to UMB's Accelerated Nursing Program. I think my essay was decent and my recommendations pretty good.

I was wondering if anyone who has applied had any advice/comments about UMB's program.

-When did you hear back for an interview?

-Did people who got an interview ... generally get into the program?

-When did the program start? It says summer but it also mentioned something about May?

-Those of you who were accepted .. how is the program going?

Any comments would be very helpful. Thank you .. I know people are busy.

Hi, Not sure if this is just in regards to the accelerated program, but I applied to the undergraduate program and I got a letter telling me that I made it into their academic pool for nursing fall 2010, and would be notified by letter on or around March 15th. They also give you a pin and password to check your status online, which I have done, but it just tells you that your application is complete, and the same thing that the letter I got in the mail did. I am counting down the days...I have not found any forums that have been geared toward the undergraduate admissions, this one was not specific so I was hoping...Although I did not hear anything about an interview??

Thanks for the reply guys...I guess I was hoping to hear from SOMEONE that has applied to the undergraduate program and who is posting in the forum...feeling a bit lonely in my waiting these last weeks. I guess I will have to start my own thread to see if anyone is out there. :) I wish you all the best of luck in your admittance into the accelerated program, if you haven't heard already!

Here I am!

The interview went pretty well. There were a couple questions (looking back now) that I feel I could have elaborated on a bit more but may have been too nervous to do so at the time. I was impressed with the two interviewers - they were very smart and had great answers to my questions as well as good information about the program. It was pretty laid back, but it was also clear the information they wanted to get from you.

I am getting conflicting information about how many people they are interviewing and for how long but so far it's pretty clear that I should hear from them "via e-mail" (although I am sure those who will be accepted will receive a phone call). At first I heard 30/50 people were being accepted and then when I went to the interview I was told 30/40. It looks like from last year's posts acceptance phone calls were around the 21st of March. I want this so badly :(

Hi All,

I had my interview this past Friday. I feel it went well and they made me feel so comfortable. I'm sooooo anxious and nervous to find out if I got in or not. I'm glad to hear that they're interviewing 40 not 50. This wasn't said to me in the interview. I was only told 50 over the phone. We won't find out anything until the last week of march.

Has anyone else interviewed???

Anyone know what the tuition and fees are for the UMass BOSTON accelerated? Is there a break for instate students?

Last fall, a friend of mine declined an acceptance to UMass AMHERST accelerated after finding out that fees and tuition would be 35 to 40 k for everyone, including state residents.

The tuition rate is $25K for instate
