  1. Hi Guys, I bought all my books. I mostly bought them used at Alibris or AMAZON. I bought two at Barnes and Noble because they were cheaper. It cost me a little under $300 for all 9 books. Matt ... Did you register for May 8th? I will see you Saturday Nene. Also ... I am so confused with the E-mail **** sent us today. I signed up for classes and ended up with the following schedule: T 9-12, 1-7:30 W 9-12, 1-4 Th 9-4 but now she's saying the lab for NU351 will be 1-7:30. So are we going to be in class until 7:30 T and W? I don't care, I just was wondering if she MEANT to write Tuesday. Anyway ... what else guys? Are you all excited????
  2. Nene! Great! See you then! Did you guys get the orientation packet in the mail? I was looking at the schedule. Do you know why is says 1-4:30 OR 4:30-7 on M W Th? Why are there two times?
  3. Hi NeNe, I e-mailed to ask her about the cpr courses. She sent me a schedule of cpr courses provided at Carney Hospital that she said they accept at UMB. I am taking one on Saturday, May 8th if you are interested. I wanted to get it out of the way before we started school. I'm glad you called to ask about that random letter. I was worried about it. I am lucky since I work at a dr's office I will just have one of the nurses I work for help me with all the immunizations. I want to get them out of the way so I'll probably look into that today. Keep in touch!
  4. lvontheocean and Billjeff, Thanks for your input. I was recently accepted to the program! I was wondering if you could elaborate on whether it was necessary to have a car for the clinicals or whether people made it by with public transportation? Also - did you guys take out loans for the program? If so, were you also taking out loans for living? Did you find that the gov gave you a good amount of money or did you have to take out private loans for the majority of the program? Thanks in advance!
  5. Did you guys receive a "Transfer Credit Evaluation" in the mail? What is this? Is this just confirming that we completed the pre-requisites? I'm confused because it says "63 credits have been accepted" and then it says "At least one requirement hasn't been satisfied" - but it doesn't specify what. I'm confused - I'm sure it's just something that is automatically generated and sent but I am still curious. Anyway FM yes you are right I am too late for the FASFA for the SUMMER semester. Unfortunately I will need to pay for the summer tuition through only private loans. I wish I had received that e-mail that you got telling you to fill it out before March but unfortunately I did not. Hopefully my private loan source will give me all i need for the summer - I think it's $5k plus the cost of living. UGGGH! Are any of you still going to the April 10th orientation? I think I may still go because I am not familiar with the campus and maybe I can speak with someone in Financial Aid BEFORE the May 18th orientation (seems so far away!). Lastly, do you guys have cars? I wonder if it is necessary to have a car for the clinicals or if people have made it by with public transportation. Maybe I should ask some of the graduates. Anyway hope you guys are enjoying your weekend!
  6. Hi, I think it's due June 30th ... The 2010-2011 School Year (July 1st, 2010 - June 30th, 2011): FAFSA on the Web applications must be submitted by midnight Central Daylight time, June 30, 2011.
  7. Oh whooops I totally read over that. I am SO GLAD to hear someone else isn't just going to take out their check book and write out a check for $25k. I am worried about it too. I need to take out money for just about everything (living expenses, etc). I hope to get small amount of loan and the rest will most likely be private because I'm not sure I can get a lot if any at all from the gov. I sent my fafsa last night so I will have to wait to hear. I am a medical assistant so I made no money. I may try to keep my once a week babysitting job throughout the summer. Some people from last year's cohort said to keep your job at least through the summer and that the money will help but I obviously can't stay an MA. I am anxious to see this summer's schedule! I saw last year's and it seems alright for the transition back to school.
  8. Hi fm2847, Congratulations to you too! I have a few questions for you and NeNe ... 1) Any idea when the start date for the program is? Someone said June but last year they started middle of May. 2) Are you guys taking out loans for the program (I am) FYI - My acceptance letter does say summer 2010 and does not indicate accelerated. fm2847 - Are you going to accept? If so I look forward to meeting you AND NeNe. My friend with whom I took my pre-requisites at Bunker Hill was also accepted.
  9. I GOT IN!!!!! Nene thanks so much for your kind words. I am so excited and I can't stop crying :)
  10. OOooooo so that's not the best news for me since those people didn't have interviews ...
  11. Nene, Do you know if the people that got their rejection letters this past Monday had interviews ALSO? Or were those people just plain rejected from the beginning. Sorry to bother you with this ... and be suuuper annoying
  12. Thanks for your quick reply nene. Wow you're right - I haven't received a rejection letter yet so maybe this IS a good sign. I'm so glad for you and so nervous for me. If I get in I will be DEF accepting so we will be classmates! Looks like I won't know anything until 6:15 tonight Re: Umass Boston Acceptance Thanks guys! I know exactly how you feel this has been so crazy!!! I know some people got their rejection letter last Monday so if you haven't gotten one yet I'd take it as a good sign. I do live nearby so you should be getting something soon. I don't know what's going on with the email...thought I'd get one but got a letter instead. The deposit is only $200 and is refundable if you change your mind. I think I'm going to go ahead and accept. I'm still waiting to hear from Simmons, Mass College Pharmacy & Health Sciences, and Salem State. I'm waitlisted for MGH but god knows how many people are waitlisted. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!! LEt me know what happens.
  13. OMG NENE CONGRATS!!!!! I thought we were going to get an acceptance E-MAIL TOOOO! Yikes!! Do you live nearby hahah maybe 'cause I'm in Quincy I will get a letter today?? I'm LITERALLY going to DIE. I may leave work today early to see if I get a letter.
  14. Did they say WHEN the e-mails would come by any chance? It's so cute that you called :)
  15. NeNe Mine says the same thing! When was the last time you checked this site ? The last time I checked was the day I got offered an interview so I am wondering WHEN they changed that ... have you checked it recently? YIKES! I wonder if that means we'll get an e-mail soon since they mentioned that they will NOT be sending the decesion through snail mail to save on paper.
