Anyone applying to the 2010 UMASS Boston Accelerated BSN program?

Yup I applied, but I hear it's very difficult to get into (as are all of them) but especially so because it's the cheapest.

I think they got a lot more applications this year...

Yes, I applied. Had some trouble with a study abroad transcript, I'm keeping my fingers crossed! Where else did you all apply? Simmons?

I applied also. Does anyone know someone who is in/graduated from the accelerated program at UMass boston? I am curious if people are happy with the program? During the open house they made the program sound very intense (for example having no time off)

i also applied to simmons and have not heard anything. i called today and they said that decisions have been made and if they letters have not been send out yet they should go out this week or next.

WOw Simmons has already made its decision? When I dropped off my application they said they had about 500 applications for some fifty spots!

no maybe i am wrong, i don't know much about simmons process. they must have meant that they made a decision on my application? sorry..

The accelerated program at Curry College is often overlooked by those trying to get good bang for their buck. It runs about $10K/semester ($35K for the entire program), which is about half of what the other private schools charge. I don't know what UMass/Boston charges in tuition and fees, but it has to be in the same ballpark as Curry. As with most of the accelerated programs, they have 5-10X more applications than seats.

Yeah def going to apply there as well! :)

Hello,

I applied to UMB AND will apply to Curry on March 1st. These are the only two I am applying to because I only have the pre-req's for these two schools as I was a Finance major for my undergraduate. They said we should hear back from UMB by the end of February so I am very anxious!

I feel like I have a better chance to get into UMB since I still have one more science pre-requisite for Curry (Chem WITH a lab - which if I plan to take either this summer or this fall at Bunker Hill Community College if I am accepted to Curry). I took a chem in college but it was a 3-credit course and it didn't have a lab.

Anyone else? Write me your experiences and backgrounds, etc.

Will people please POST the minute they hear back from UMB? I want to know asap when people get an interview!

:)
