UMass Boston ABSN Summer 2020

Published

Hi everyone! I didn't see a post for UMB's ABSN Summer 2020 program, so I figured I'd start one! Feel free to share your GPA/TEAS info. Maybe we can help each other out with any questions that come up! Good luck with applications everyone!

@mjk7674 cool thanks for letting me know! I ended up calling the Program Coordinator who told me it should be somewhere between $37-40k total. She also gave me some important dates!

May 18-20: Orientation (in person)

Week of May 25: 1st Semester Classes open

Week of September 10: 2nd Semester Classes Open

Week of April 25, 2021: Finish final clinicals

She also mentioned we'd be receiving packets in the mail with more information in the coming weeks, but to call the program office if you need any questions answered before the 2/1 deposit deadline.

Is there anyone here who applied after Dec. 1st deadline and is waiting to hear back on second round decisions?

My admission status updated yesterday! Has anyone started a facebook group yet? If not, I can

@sungy would you mind creating a facebook group? I'd love to join!

I submitted my application back in July and havent heard back. I know they were going to wait till after the holidays, but how did you guys check on Wiser? There's no enrollment option on my tabs unless I'm blind.  I just started an ASN at a different college because I was afraid I wouldn't get into the Umass ABSN (despite just graduating from their EHS program), and my coworker (currently in it online bc of covid) told me the online nursing program was awfulllll  :((

But if I do get in, for a ABSN and 40k in debt? Ill probs switch and take it LOL

Hi everyone! I know this is an older post, but could anyone who is part of the program now offer some feedback? I am looking for any and all information! Thanks so much!

Hey @LCD123

I am graduating soon from this program! It got off on a rocky start but the program director hired more professors to help us feel more supported academically. We still don't have a ton of access to our Simulation lab which is frustrating, but each semester I've gotten more and more time in there. Overall, if you're able to put your head down for 12 months and work hard, this is a great program for you to get you to being a nurse quickly and cheaply :)

Hi @LCD123, thank you for this feedback. Do you think that this program is addressing these issues with its newer cohorts? I have only found negative information since getting accepted. Do students really get clinicals at Mass Gen hospital and other good clinical environments?
