  1. Hi! I actually had a wonderful experience through portage ! The ethics professor was so understanding and if its the same person who taught it 3+ years ago then it shouldn't be bad. I literally had to bang it out in 15 days after I explained to him my situation of missing financial aid deadline/ getting into a program. As for writing, I felt it was straight forward. You had to use APA on papers, put in your own thoughts and elaborate. If I remember it was mainly opinion based. Essays are short they were not bad at all! Theres some journaling modules. But it is not bad at all. Ask questions when you are not sure. Course hero is also a good resource cough cough* I rushed through w/ meh context and had passed with a B. goodluck!
  2. I actually go there now, I’m in my second semester and I actually like it a lot so far! The instructors are very knowledgeable and they actually care a lot for students. The ASN program to me right now feels a lot more doable as well. I also work every weekend, my peers also work a lot more and they can manage. Some are parents and there’s all different age groups. It’s stupid expensive for an ASN. That’s the down side but compared to some other community colleges I think it’s better. Less exams, one 12 hour clinical a week sounds way more reasonable. You also have simulation every other week depending on the semester. They won’t kick you out right away if you don’t do as well however you must maintain above a B- in all classes. I’m still trying to figure my way around but again I do like it a lot so far.
  3. I just finished it! literally in 19 days! Mind you, you neeeeed to put in the effort. It's a lot of writing, and I didn't read most of the modules, just googled definitions and used common sense. The tests aren't like the ANP ones where theres a lock down browser so you can literally scroll back and forth. However I recommend knowing the definitions for the first exam, and know how they could be applied in the real world. I got an 89, my professor was really cool! I told him I was in a rush bc the nursing program was bugging me to finish. He ended up grading my assignments first. Good luck!
  4. I submitted my application back in July and havent heard back. I know they were going to wait till after the holidays, but how did you guys check on Wiser? There's no enrollment option on my tabs unless I'm blind. I just started an ASN at a different college because I was afraid I wouldn't get into the Umass ABSN (despite just graduating from their EHS program), and my coworker (currently in it online bc of covid) told me the online nursing program was awfulllll :(( But if I do get in, for a ABSN and 40k in debt? Ill probs switch and take it LOL
  5. Can I bang this class out within a month? Ethics on Portage.. I finished ANP2 in 2-3 months but thats because I was slacking on it.
  6. Ahh this sounds pretty stressful. Thank you for all the information!
  7. Thank you for getting back to me, It means a lot! And CONGRATS on all your accomplishments! I just graduated from Umass Boston with an Exercise Health science degree since I couldn’t get into a Nursing program at the time. Can you tell me a bit more about the program? And why you didn’t choose to continue an RN-BSN through Rivier?
  8. Can anyone tell me their thoughts on Rivier University ASN program? I know this thread is almost 10 years old. It's a bit of a commute from Boston but its definitely more affordable compared to some of the programs here.
